This is quite awesome. Thanks a lot.
I didn't notice it and I'm not a fan. But i have a couple of friends that are nutz over it so I'll pass it to them. :D

Also, from the blog post announcing it: "The Humble Doctor Who Comics Bundle Presented by IDW debuts a new cycle with our dedicated books tab and transforms on Wednesday May 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Pacific Time."
I'm pretty psyched that book bundles are apparently going to be a regular thing. Hopefully the fact that they're now independent of the game bundles will lead to less raging (oh, who am I kidding?).

My first reaction was "another comic book bundle?" Then I saw the new tab on the site and this post indicating that the book bundle will be its own thing. Thanks for pointing this out. I'm glad it's not replacing the game bundles we usually expect Humble to offer. I don't think there should be (much) raging as long as the game bundles continue at their typical frequency. If they slow down though, then I can see people complaining that the non-game bundles are detracting from the game ones.

It's way better than the current daily game bundle lol

You can get tier 1 to see what the comics look like and increase your amount to either BTA or $15 if you feel they're worth it.

I like The Doctor but my wallet is crying... although 0.01$ is cheap enough for me

If Humble cared. they wouldn't allow it to be done and set a minimum price, some of their other bundles reuire a dollar to process, such as the daily special today.

I love my ebooks on my Kindle, but I hadn't really felt a need to buy them from a bundle. But this is really cool. Unfortunately, my Kindle is an old-school dedicated e-reader, so it wouldn't do these. I could still read them on my computer, I suppose, but I doubt I'd ever actually do it.

The files come as PDF, Mobi and Epub. Can't your Kindle read any of these?

Aye. The old-school Kindles read mobi, pdf, and epub, but it would be black and white and it lacks touch-screen, so switching between panels/zooming would be clumsy at best.
Still, its an amazing device. I absolutely love that the text quality and the fact that I can easily carry so many different books.

What are people's opinions on this? I like the old Doctor Who, but haven't seen the new shows. I'm not a big comic book fan, the Android game is free on the Play store already, and tiers 2 and 3 are rather highly priced, so I'm not sure I'd get more than tier 1 if I were to buy it. Or I can just save my money for game bundles -- I don't have a lot of time to read, and I've already got a bunch of things on my to-read list. Suggestions? Thanks.

I grew up on Tom Baker and came pretty late to the modern Doctor Who party, but I've got to say that its some good TV. I can't speak to the comic books, but I'd say you should definitely give the show a shot. If you don't care for the first Doctor of the modern era (Christopher Eccelston), he's only the Doctor for the first season. Personally, I didn't mind him at all, but David Tennant as the Doctor is brilliant!

The Android game on the bundle gets you ten unlocked Doctors and 3 costumes, so if you're into the game that would have some value. As for whether the higher tiers are worth it for you, I can't say, but I'd definitely recommend getting at least the base tier.

You can actually install the game from the Play Store and use the unlock code they provide.

I decided to buy this last week. I do generally enjoy Doctor Who enough that I thought it would be worth it, when I eventually get around to reading the comics. But with the addition of some more volumes, I've got a question. Can someone point out the proper order for reading these? Series 1, 2, and 3 seem clear enough, and I think the third tier are their own stories separate from those three series, so I should be able to read them whenever. But where do the four stories added to the second tier fit? Thanks!

From their blog post: The Humble Doctor Who Comics Bundle Presented by IDW debuts a new cycle with our dedicated books tab and transforms on Wednesday May 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Pacific Time.
It looks like they're planning on having recurring eBooks bundle too from now on, separate from the main bundle.
