SOLUTION:
The sentence was encrypted using an offset on a standard QWERTY keyboard. The letter to the right of the key on the QWERTY keyboard was typed. To decrypt, simply write out the letters to the left of the corresponding keys on a QWERTY keyboard.
Hints 1 and 3 were referring to the funky-ly phrased title, which mentions the offset right. Hints 4 and 5 of course refer to a keyboard, which every member of steamgifts would have, considering they have steam accounts.

I hope you guys enjoyed the puzzle!

Not a single entry so far soooo...
Hint #2: Yes, this is a cryptography puzzle, and it does not use any of the methods of encryption mentioned in the zelgh magic guide to basic sg puzzling

Hint #3: The actual method of encryption used was already hinted somewhere in the discussion yes, it's a hint about a hint, sue me :P

In THIS discussion? The one that has only like 5 posts that could contain that hint? :-o Eh....

It was there immediately upon creating the discussion, if that helps :P

Uhm... where's "Hint #1"?

Hint #1 was the hint Hint #3 is talking about. Apparently it was so subtle (read: poorly conveyed) that the first couple solvers had to do so without finding it at all ehehehe :D

Well, 16 hours ago you wrote "I'll drop another hint in a couple of hours, and a few more tomorrow if necessary! :D" - which let's me assume that "Hint #1" was already dropped by then. The only one by you before that though is the one linking to the game on Steam... which is not a hint really.

Looks absolutely identical to what it looked before.
So again: Basically you said the first hint was already there over 16 hours ago at least. There's only 3 other comments besides yours older than that: One is the huge smiley to which you replied with latter, another one is the one which you reserved and put in a link to the game on steam and the last one was the one containing "Hint #2". So, maybe you want to be a bit more specific than hinting to hidden hints with even more hints?

There's a hint hidden in the original discussion post I made, prior to any comments being made as well. Which is why I started from Hint #2. I'll readily admit that hint is pretty hard to spot, but it's fairly big if you identify it.

Yeah... no idea. I don't see what you're talking about. I guess I skip this one. Maybe I'll try my luck again when there's a Hint #4 - should there ever be one.

Hint #4 is out :D

I appreciate the heads up but I give up on this. I don't have the slightest idea how to decode this. Hoping for a posted solution after it has ended.

Hint #4: Every single member of this forum has a physical copy of the encryption key, on which the method of encryption from Hint #3 is used to encrypt the sentence

Hint #5: The encryption key mentioned in Hint #4 is an electronic device.

It's not the capital letters in the discussion, if that's what you are talking about.

No, I decoded it, but only found 4 letters as a result, probably because I used tool to decode it..

Weird. Double check the decoded message, and if you still don't get it send me a message on steam with your decoded result.

well - i got the message, found the code, but it doesn't work for me :/ you're sure about capital letters and stuff?

*EDIT never mind. Got it. Thanks for this little puzzle :)
and there is a "tinz"tiny-problem for some people on earth because in this locations a different physical copy of the encryption-key is used....

Bump for solved. Almost solved it manually (about 50%) before thinking "nah, must be an easier way".

Nice puzzle, even more so when it's only partially cracked with automated tool, and the fact that some of the characters only appear once.
