I'm not sure how "musical people" would say this properly, but I prefer my music with some highs and lows or ups and downs. Which means this song is simply not up to my taste - edited or not (it's too flat). But then I tried this, of which original song I like, and, well...
Double dislike for me it is :p
You said originally that 1st song linked was an edit of a tune. In "Happy", it feels like Kaytranda tried to mute out the tune :(
(though there were couple seconds in which I liked the changes, but most of it, no).
But hey, after my comments at least people won't hesitate to be real about their opinions, right? :3

I really like the original beat and the edit was super smooth, although Common's flow sounded a bit off to me. Still great song, but not my favourite rapper :)

I dont really like the weird wobble in the edit, not sure where that comes from and if its just my ears or something else.

Isn't this perhaps the most kickass edit of any tune ever? I would say it is.
