I am trying to make a custom character for Streets of Rogue and, though the game works, saving data does not. I keep getting a message that character data cannot be saved. I asked on the forum and the dev said it is to do with permissions, but could not help me past that. I checked the game folder and all permissions are already checked, except special permissions, which I cannot check. Any ideas?

check the game to run as admin?
This (>'o')> ♥ <('o'<)
Do that and try to verify file integrity via steam.
You can also try this launch option and see if there's more details: -condebug
Also, the save location is probably in AppData, so that one would be the one you'd have to look at the permissions for.
AppData makes sense. The dev didn't seem to know where it would be. But alas, I found the issue. Darn antivirus.
NP. I generally turn off AV to test stuff like that but didn't think to mention it.
Are you playing the games under the admin account on your windows?
Edit: Which folder and drive do you have the game installed in?
Atleast a dev that replies, but to end up saying dunno, maybe google it..
Don't think it has anything to do messing with file permissions, and maybe run as admin as mully said.
Lol, yeah I was impressed that he replied though. Many do not.
Yea, he's a great guy. He tries his best to answer every question/problem on the game's forum. Can't wait to see how the game turns out.
Yup, it's impressive. And he keeps his cool, which is also pretty damn important.
Argh! Solved the problem. It was not permissions or admin access or launch options. But thanks for the suggestions.
I finally noticed that Bitdefender was blocking it from changing the file, and I had to allow it. I should have thought of this since BD blocked Ancient Domains of Mystery from running entirely. I like the software but damn, it is too sensitive!
