Yikes...that sounds terrible. Hang in there.
And don't forget to brush and floss! :D

Firstly, I'm feeling very very sorry for you. Do tell us how it goes after the dentist tomorrow and, if you like that kind of stuff or are into them, I can send you some nice comic book links or funny videos so you can cheer up while you heal (:
Secondly,
What's your worst "tooth" story? Do tell...
I've never really had any actual bad tooth stories since, gladly, I've always had nice and good teeth and good and kind dentists, but...
Once, when I was about 9 or so, I'd wager, one of my teeth was being a little bich really annoying and not wanting to leave my mouth when it should. It was due to fall soon, but apparently it loved me too much to leave me. So I went to one of my dentists (a kind lady) to break up with it. I've always been uneasy around needles, so she tried to cover it up with a fluffy cotton when she tried to put some anesthetics in my mouth. I told her, almost crying, that I knew it was a needle and I must have been such a little bitch annoying kid about it, that, to this day, I've never seen her half as angry as when she blatantly told me I was wrong and shoved the "cotton" in my mouth anyway.
There was also this time I had to have my mouth expanded during several months with painful palate braces.... My mouth was tiny and there was no room for my new teeth, so instead of poorly taking some out like everyone does, I endured the pain like a man. For months. With food getting constantly stuck on my mouth. By the time I was done, the gap between my front teeth (which was later solved with more braces, of course) strongly reminded my mother of Johnny Depp's mad hatter, which made me smile more than I should, probably.
If you like medical stories, you should check out this webcomic I myself follow, it's great! And I hope it cheers you up!
edit: almost forgot! Thanks for the GA! (:

Thanks for the stories! I'm only interested in stories of people from this forum but thanks for the link :)
I don't care about needles. Anesthetics are great! They do stuff in your tooth and you don't even feel it.
And yeah, I'll let you know. I'm going in 2 hours.
Edit: They just called and told me to come in 3 hours. Oh well, I guess I have to wait a little more.

Woah you're such a brave soldier! Congrats. I don't think I would have been able to stand the pain, honestly. I hope you're feeling okay and that, by now, the itching has subsided.
Now watch out with that flossing so you don't have to get back there again, deal? (:

Haha, sure thing :D
The itching is still present but not as strong as before. And hell, I'll take itching over constant pain lol.
Well, I had to endure. There was no other option really. The nerve had to be taken out. But yeah, it was extremely painful ;P

That sounds horrible. Good luck at the dentist tomorrow getting that fixed.
I already put my tooth story under the ga but i'll put it here too. A piece of my gum started bleeding became loose and there was a hard foreign body in my mouth that caused it. I tried pulling this out but it was stuck to my gum, so I had to rip out more of my gum to get it out. When I got it out, I realized the foreign body wasn't actually foreign, it was a piece of tooth. I honestly don't know if it broke off, or whether it was a random growth.
Have a happy deer!

I feel your pain, I really do. If it's abscessed you really need to get it taken care of ASAP.
I had a tooth abscess a little over a year ago, and I thought "bah, I can tough this out" -- until I woke up one morning and the whole side of my face was swollen up. Went to the dentist, and he said there was nothing he could do until I went to the ER to get some antibiotics to get the swelling down. So I had to deal with the pain (and no painkillers on this planet kill that pain completely) for several days until I could get back to the dentist again. The worst thing about toothache is that it's like an itch you can't reach, and drives you mad trying to make it go away.
Take care of yourself and I wish you all the best.

Holy shit, dude. Sounds like a rather nasty infection. I had one of those once, and it was really painful. Tasted rather nasty, too. It was one of the worst things that I've dealt with. Hopefully your dentist visit will fix you right up. Take care!

Oh no! I've had a abscess before and it drove me nuts! I ended up getting the tooth removed and I will never forget the smell when the dentist burst it. It was horrible! Hope you get to feeling better!

During the past few days I've been going to the dentist every day cause my tooth's been hurting badly. First I got the dental caries removed and the tooth filled but it didn't help. Then I had the root canals cleansed of nerves but it didn't help either. Now I'm pretty positive I have some kind of bubble that has liquid in it (it's called abscess in English) somewhere around that tooth (or in it) and until it bursts or is destroyed then the tooth will just keep on hurting. I think it's that because every once in a while I can feel some liquid with weird taste squirting through some holes in the area where it hurts and when it happens I feel a huge relief and the pain stops for a moment. I'm going to the dentist tomorrow to get it finally fixed cause this pain is driving me crazy.
Here, have a giveaway.
Edit: I just came back from the dentist. It turned out another tooth in close vicinity to that one was the problem. There was massive decay all over when he drilled it open. He said we were going to do the root canals extraction just like two days ago with the other one. But today the anesthetic didn't work on one of the nerves in the tooth (I had 3 canals/nerves total). The dentist gave me the anesthetic twice, to no avail. But he had to extract the nerve and he did. Without any numbing medicine cause it didn't work. The pain was intense as hell, probably the worst I've experienced yet. Pure pain. The assisstant told me later that when a nerve is infected then anesthetic doesn't work on it. I'm just glad it's over and I hope it won't hurt anymore. It hurts now but I think it's understandable given that an hour ago I had my tooth drilled, pulled and messed with lol.
Edit 2: It's just itching at this point. I hope it's gonna get better from now on.
