I just wanted to make a discussion to create a safe space for others to spread some positivity to others and say whatever matter to them at the moment. :)

They say change starts with me, so I must say I just feel so lucky to be part of steam gifts. I recently made the decision to join a group. I was really honored to be offered, so I'm very excited, and very nervous, about that. I am pretty introverted but I am beginning to really like this outgoing person who just loves seeing others happy in a something simple as playing a game or talking about games. This website has definitely made a positive impact in my life in a short time. It seems so trivial in the greater scheme of life but maybe it's those little things that helps us feel thankful for the big things that really matter. Anyways, I hope everyone is doing awesome and having some great adventures in their world.

for me its not as much steamgifts as discord groups and reddit, i like computers (and Jesus :)) so ill prowl around tech related areas alot to help with issues or discuss basically anything, because its what i enjoy doing, for others steamgifts is that place, so im happy it exists :)

Somehow it was easy to tell which group you were talking about. ;)

Nice. We grow with every exchange, every experience. I'm pretty sure that SG influenced me quite a bit too. Partially negatively probably, my Steam library was so sweet, tiny and innocent (about the same size as yours right now) before I returned here. :p

Yeah. The guy running the group, by anything that was said about him, was just a class act of a dude. I just feel so honored considering I am relatively new to here and being able to be accepted into a group. I know others have put in more time but I am going take that and make sure I am putting my good foot forward in respect of that.

On the second part, I was entering into a lot at first but I have tapered that down. I actually won one and I gave it back because I was going purchase in a bundle later with it's other games in the series. After that, I really lost a lot of enthusiasm for winning games and instead enjoyed just giving them. I, honestly, just enjoy the thrill of a chance then actually winning. I really don't strive to have so many games in my library and I really only buy on extreme sales. I did pre-order REANMAL though, so my hubby and I can play it with our two new PCs (his first one ever), but that's only the second game I ever pre-ordered and the first game I paid over, i think, $20 in the last 5 years.

Good for you. SG is a great place. There is always negativity around (I'm guilty of it as well because we tend to lose sight of the good things we have while we are bitching about a little rain) but I would say I have been uplifted by people's generosity, their good nature and their friendship over the years more than I have been bummed by others.

I'm not surprised Gus has invited you to the group. I still feel unworthy of it so i know what you mean when you say it makes you nervous lol

You should apply to Unlucky 7. It's also a cool group with lots of newbies and vet members exchanging and it's a good way to get a few first wins, and the best part is you can stay on as a gifter after you won your first 7 games so that you can help out newbies get their first wins.
It's a satisfying experience to be someone's first win on SG and it's the kind of full circle things that brings you memories of your first win later on when the enthusiasm may have dimmed a little.

Speaking of Happy Gaming, anything you have been playing lately that you would recommend? I have toooons of games but I'm always curious about what games others are finding their happiness in.

By the way, while I'm certainly not one to talk about unplayed games sitting in libraries, you have Stardew Valley in your library and that's typically a game I keep going back to for happy times. Gris and Journey are also games I really enjoyed even though I don't revisit them often because too little time too many games!

I will be honest. I haven't played in a month as I been working on remodeling our condo. My hubby and I are in the middle of the process of getting two new PCS. I am upgrading from a 4070 and he is getting his first PC, so he is super excited about that. I bought a couple games in my down time and going to play them when my new PC is all set up. It will be a major upgrade from this one. I have a such a long backlog right now and I need to work on that. I did preorder REANIMAL, so me and my hubby are excited about that. I recently bought Settlement Survival, and going to get GORE this week. I have been really getting into atmospheric games or unique style games. There are so many games and so little time. What have you been playing? Thanks for the recommendation. I would totally join if it wasn't more to keep up. I'm trying to figure out all the rules and stuff for this group and all the stats. It's really confusing but I am learning. :)

For a minute I thought you were remodeling your hubby and i was like "I could use some remodeling myself" 🤣

I have quite a few games in my library I have been saving to play on an upgraded PC in ultra settings but so far it's been a bust and with the ever increasing price of everything PC related for the AI bubble, it'll be a while. I can relate to having a few games aside for the new and improved PC though.

I have been really getting into atmospheric games or unique style games.

I also find myself moving away from big studio games for more stylistically daring and atmospheric games too. With so little time to play, it seems crazy to spend it on generic games.

What have you been playing?

I finished Clair Obscur on my gf's account and loved it so much. Talk about a stylish atmospheric game! Now I'm just playing short narrative games to get out of my head a little. Currently playing Pilo which I won here. It's not too challenging but it's a fun collectathon exploration game.

Fixed. That did sound like that. :) Yes, PCs are expensive. I am going with a 5080+9080x3d and he is going get a 5090. Yes, things are outrageous. I think it could get worse before it gets better. I heard so much good stuff about Expedition 33. I have it on gamepass but have yet to play it.

Glad you're finding positive vibes at SG! It's nice to have more community members interacting and interested. 💜

I'm with Fluffster and would love to hear about recently played positive games.

Also, I love that this game exists.

(Disclaimer: I have not played. Was mentioned in recent AGDQ I gather.)

Oh. I really love the art style. I mentioned above I haven't been really playing with working on our condo and in the process of two new PCs but when they get set up, I will back at it. I have so many games I need to play. I really thought I come here and want to win games but it really doesn't interest me much. I am more interested in blessing others and having gaming interaction. I know it might sound silly but I find comfort in hearing about other's adventures and great times. I will soon be having some more of mine. For that, I feel very thankful.

It doesn't have to be a recent game..maybe just a game that stuck with you!

Like Nuclear Blaze. A smaller game, but with more story than I was expecting. It was fun to fight fires, and then the story led places I wasn't expecting.

I would say, in that case, Bramble The Mountain King. It's very beautiful and a has a great art style. It's not scary but there are moments in that game that leave you in this lonely place and put you in your feels. It's like standing alone in a vast forest with no one around.

Hi TheLastShepard!

You picked an awesome group to join! I myself am pretty new to the group too but I can already tell it's chock full of great people who actually want to be a community, not just strangers hungry for free games. Join the discord if you haven't already so you don't miss out on events and the daily banter.

These last few months have been difficult and cozy games have really been a godsend to keep me mentally sane. Stardew Valley, Dredge, Hidden Cats, Crab God, and Tiny Lands to name a few.

Spending time solving the puzzles on Steamgifts has been stress relieving too. The many jigsaw giveaways during Christmas I completed were something I didn't realize I needed. There's something for each person here to enjoy. I started out on SG as a place to dump my leftover keys but have come to understand the large community better and am happy to have another outlet to spread joy to others through giving.

Was going to write more here but my brother is waiting on me to game with him! XD

Sorry for late reply. I bought Stardew and have not played much of it at all. I need to find someone who will play with me and let me have tons of sheep. :) I think it's awesome you found games that can take you to good places. :)
