The Prodigy's Keith Flint has died at the age of 49.

The singer, famous for his Firestarter, was found dead at his home today.
Police are still at his property in Essex, but officers are not treating the death as suspicious.
An Essex Police spokesman told The Sun: "We were called to concerns for the welfare of a man at an address in Brook Hill, North End, just after 8.10am on Monday.
"We attended and, sadly, a 49-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."

East of England Ambulance service also say they were called to the address where a man was found unconcious.
An ambulance was sent but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Prodigy found huge fame after emerging from the underground rave scene in the early 1990s.
They went on to become one of the UK's biggest bands.

They got to the No1 spot in the UK singles chart with their famous song Firestarter and again with Breathe in 1996.
Prodigy also has six No1 albums.
Keith became an iconic figure in the British music scene thanks to his energetic live performances and his distinctive look of wild hair and lots of tattoos.
The singer was born in Redbridge, East London, before moving to Braintree, Essex as a child.
It was after the move that he met Prodigy co-founder Liam Howlett in one of the town's nightclubs.

[Edit] Official word is that he died by suicide. Quote from an interview from 2015: "I am not saving (money) for later, i am cashing it all in right now, i always had that 'thing'. When i am done i am going to end it, i just want to look back and know i had a life i can see as fulfilled."

I vividly remember when I was 11 or 12, and had been into town and bought a cassette single of Breathe, then when my mum was driving me home she asked me if I wanted to play my new tape in the car... She was properly freaked out. A few seconds of silence after it finished, then she asked in a quiet, hesiitant voice, "Was... was that what you meant to buy?" :D

Always loved The Prodigy, they were truly unique, and Keith was a great showman. RIP.

lol, awesome story.
First time I hear of cassette singles. There really was such a thing? Seems like a waste...

Mind you, I'm no youngster and I've been into music all my life. But cassette singles???

Cassette singles used to be really popular, in the UK at least. They were a major determing factor of the sales charts, and a cheap way to get some new music without needing to buy a whole album. Also, they never just had one track one them - even the least generous would have something else on the B side, and most had at least a couple of songs on each side. Just did a search - the breathe cassette single also included "Their Law", "Poison" and "The Trick"! What a bargain! :D

That takes me back. I used to buy cassette singles in the early 90's. The good ones would have like 4 songs on them and it was good for a broke 13 year old who couldn't afford a $15 full album.

Sad news. Haven't listened much after the Fat of the Land album, but loved their early stuff. Played a lot of the Experience and Jilted Generation albums as a teen.
Here's a lesser known song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_nZghq3mb8

He ran a genteel country pub in Essex until 2017 where he kept a swearbox above the fire. Whenever he put the logs and kindling
in, writer Steve Anglesey recalled how anyone who made the obvious joke would be charged a quid.

Oh dear, his inner demons have finally won. :( sad news
Even though the real mastermind behind The Prodigy is Liam Howlett, this will most probably mark the end of the band I assume.
The early Prodigy were pretty fresh and dope, but after The Fat of the Land it went downhill musically. :(

I loved their first album Experience. One of the few albums I have that I though had about 8-10 real quality tracks rather than the usual one or two gems with fillers. After that, they went a lot more electronic dance/dark punk which wasn't to my personal taste though I like Firestarter, Posion and a few others. Those were the days where groups were groups rather than the manufactured X-factor generic sounding stuff we have today. May Keith rest in peace and best wishes to both his family and the rest of the band.

Shocking news - I think I ended up seeing the Prodigy live more times than any other band. Many great memories of Keith.
