Also do you prefer round, oval or square dishes?

How much time you spent washing the dishes?

View Results
Virtually none, have a dishwasher.
Usually none, have someone in the household do that because I'm lazy.
Way too much and I hate f-ing dishes where do they always come from it's a mystery!!!

I couldn't decide between "have a dishwasher" or "have someone in the household do that because I'm lazy". They could technically be the same thing, right? :P

Well, this is interesting!
I'm Northern Italian and I've always seen dishwashers, I buy all my dishes from Ikea and they're all colored and have differend shapes and so on.. but I really never ever seen a single house without a dishwasher, which by the way cost like less than half the average price of a washing machine..
I got engaged to a Sicilian girl who is quite wealthy - that's the reason why she has no relatives outside Sicily and none of her relatives had never been forced to emigrate either to Northern Italy, Europe or the States. Of course I got there by plane since it's like 2 hours from here, and 20 train hours.
And I discovered that there no one has dishwashers and all families wash dishes with their hands and use like dishes made of plastic and so on.. it was so weird! Not only her family which as I said they're all quite wealthy but everyone in the whole island in the months I spent there!
I have always had a dishwasher and I always use it every single day so no problems at all for what concerns spending time.. but I thought when I was a kid that everyone owned one XD

Most of my dishes are round and the others are oval. All of which I wash myself due to not owning a dishwasher. That's mostly because I don't need one just for me. Plus there just is no space for one, my kitchen is a small alcove off my bedroom.

Round.
I don't mind washing the dishes. I usually wash them myself as soon as I finish cooking or eating. What I really really hate is ironing, it's awful.

ive only ever come across round dishes. never seen a square one. ive seen oval but only in deep bowls
for the most part i have someone to do cleaning for me. every now and then ill do it but it dries out my hands very badly. someone else i know was like me and i saw how their hands went from being like a 30 year old to so dried and cracked and just looked like an elderly womans hands

Round dishes are the best to wash, even though i'm not a fan of doing the dishes.

From my experiences with dishwashers, i prefer doing dishes on my own. I'm faster and i use way less water than a dishwasher.
However they're a godsend in restaurants, where plates just won't stop coming. It was my favourite part of the job.

I have a dishwasher, but I kind of prefer to do the dishes myself. It's a good excuse to not respond to demands from the wife/kids because I'm sort of doing 'something useful', and it's kind of relaxing.

I wash my dishes right after I use them. I have a cabinet full of neglected dishes because I only keep out one big plate, one small plate, two bowls, one knife, one fork and two spoons (one big for cooking/serving, one regular for eating with). I just keep them in the drying rack, grab it when I need it, wash it when I'm done and put it back.

Always had a dishwasher as it's very common here, but I live in a dorm right now (for the last 3 semesters and one more) where we don't have one, but I don't really care...I somehow like washing dishes and I prefer round ones.

I have a dishwasher, but the dishes are still too much work. Unless they start implementing hands into dishwashers to handle the dishes 100% autonomously, the dishes will always be a huge bugbear.

I like them in all shapes and have no problem washing them. I think in the last 2 years I've started to wash the dishes quite often, but I enjoy it because I have time to play a favorite album.

When I was in Uni and had no-one else to wash them for me? Way. Too. Friggin'. Much. Time.
Now when I'm at home? My mom washes them cuz I'm a lazy ass. :D

Hmmm, while I don't have any issues with differently shaped dishes (sometimes they use non-standard ones in restaurants and such) the standard here is round... I think we have a few oval ones but overall most of the dishes at home are round. So I don't have a really clear view on whether the other non-standard ones have any issues with them due to the shape or not.
