This is cool news. It would be interesting for those games to be removed, especially Sonic 3 since the franchise is still fairly popular. I'd be surprised if this affected workshop or anything, from what I recall it's not the first time the "room" has had a redesign. Didn't some of the games already have online multiplayer? I'm sure I've played Golden Axe with a friend online.
What issues have you had with the emulation? Granted I haven't tried every game (far from it) but those that I have tried have worked normally. I think there was one or two I had to play around with the controller configuration for but I consider that minor.

Fair enough! I usually play with v-sync off and have a decently powerful tower so it sounds like it’d make sense that I haven’t had issues. Thanks for the info! Hopefully that all gets resolved with this upcoming patch

I agree that the achievements are a lazy effort, just like the steam background they added with the trading cards, while the cards look all right, the backgrounds are lazy shit.
they should have made at least one achievement for every game, like for beating the game or something, but maybe they will add more one day, who knows...

Sonic 3 & Knuclles, Eternal Champions and Ecco the Dolphin will probably be removed from the Steam store
Seeing how none of these have any achievements, this sadly does seem quite likely. Both other Sonic games do have achievements, so why not Sonic 3, unless they plan to stop selling it?

so far there is no real word on games to be removed, but it is likely. the achievements are probably the same as on XBOX One/PS4 and these collections will not have the 3 mentioned games. Of course there is a possibility that these 3 stay on Steam, we will see in 2 days...

So, any word on audio improvements? iirc the main complaint people had with the existing sega genesis/megadrive emulator was that the sound wasn't very accurate.

I seem to be missing some of the games. Apparently they used to be sold in five packs, and I'm missing games from pack #5. Any idea how to complete the collection without buying the whole set at the steam store?

back in the days they used to sell these packs on amazon for dirt cheap which contained all the games but im not sure if they still do

As far as I can see the 5th pack has none of the games to be removed, so wait for a sale or a bundle. I bought mine on kinguin and later on Amazon.com for really cheap, but there were also good deals on bundle stars and indiegala for it in the past.

Packs have already been removed 2 years ago, but many games now are 1 buck instead of 3 if that helps.

Yep! Looks like all the games are $1 except for sonic games which are $5...
I'll probably plan on picking the rest up in the big bundle when it goes on sale. I think that'll be most cost effective.
I had fun doing a few of the challenges so would like to try the others. Just wish they had challenges/achievements for all the games!

Yes the update went live. It is a bug fest at the moment but they are fixing things soon I think. No games have been removed. Here's what's new
• Two-player online multiplayer
• Leaderboards
• Challenge Modes – short challenges give old favourites a new twist
• Additional graphics filters & border options
• ROMs from other regions for games with significant differences
• Fast-forward and rewind
• Sprite limit disable
• Mirror mode – reverse the screen for a fresh challenge
• VR support
• Mac and Linux support
Also, I was right about the price drop. Some games went from $3 to 1$ and the complete collection is $30 now instead of $60.

I totally missed that news but apparently the SEGA Mega Drive & Genesis Classics collection is getting an update on May 29, with the release on the XBOX One and PS4.

I hope if this really affects the Steam version, that they fixed the emulator because it is not a good one at the moment. I would have looked forward for more games also, but maybe that's something for the future...
