It's the size of RDR, GTA IV, and SA all combined. Doesn't look like it, right? Just wait until you get in game :D

It could probably be, but it seems smaller. Take a look at the city and all you can see is big avenues. Also there are a small number of towns, you have Grapeseed, Sandy Shores, Paleto Bay and Los Santos.
GTA San Andreas had at least 8 small towns and 3 big cities.
Anyway, it's better to wait and see the first reviews to see how it goes.

... Just when I thought a day would go by without another useless topic made by you.

I cant even imagine the impact it has in your life.

You'll get to know it better than your own city, better start early.

Why? GTAV won't be anything close to GTASA... Even this map looks simple compared to SA's. Well, anyway, GTAV is actually not such a great game. Especially after the addition of smoking weed... Disgusting.

"the addition of smoking weed... Disgusting."
ConcernedMom420 pls go away it's just a video game.
Honestly weed smoking is nothing compared to that other things you do in the GTA series.

What really turned you off about GTA V? It can't be smoking weed.

That's a valid point. The scaling might be off, but it's not that much of a differece. I mean, it doesn't even cover the whole Los Santos, so if scaled right, I think the size would be somewhere near the whole city. Maybe a little bigger than Los Santos.
Anyway, we will see if this is true in 7 days. :)

Take a look at the legend in the bottom left, the map is huge.

1 City... Just one city? No, Vice City was still better, SA was still better. We don't need a single BIG-HUGE cities, we want MANY big cities. In this map there's only one city and a few towns...

And I think that is very good, more countryside means more things to do, more freedom. After the GTASA there was only cities, concrete jungles in GTA 4. It is nice that in the new GTA there will be countryside, even mountains. That means much more activities and exploration than driving or walking around the city

but the city is apparently the same size of liberty city so it should be ok. I also think it wont be as empty as you think.

All of the non-city space on the map is encouraging. Its part of what made SA feel so huge. It was more than just driving around a city. GTAIV had plenty of city with nothing to do in it. All of those buildings that you couldn't interact with may as well been trees.
I'm really curious to see how well this game turns out. Unfortunately, it'll be impossible to find honest scores early on. Look at the plethora of perfect scores GTA IV got, despite being far from perfect.

Should be sweet. I just hope that it is not overhyped too much.

Where's Las Venturas!? Was there a catastrophic event that wiped it off the map?
It was north of Los Santos in San Andreas. The airport is completely different too.

They should've added a few decent-sized cities/towns in the middle and north parts of the map. I have a feeling I'll get stranded in the huge countryside. Oh well, aside from that the map looks nice and I can't wait to play it. One more week left!

Why do I have a feeling that the map is small? ;-;
