If somebody missed the WWW horror, here is the very small piece of it :) English wikipedia page about the tower should be a good starting point. More investigation might be needed though.

Schedule for complete event and access to weekly trains here.

P.S. If you have no idea what WWW is, do not worry, you can solve everything without this painful knowledge.

Bump for another landmark visited and solved!
I was curious what puzzle will you prepare for this event -- well, I could have guessed:), but I like the idea! Thanks for the puzzle and giveaways.

I have no idea what the answer of Q1 is. "A year when this emperor died" or "the two numbers" or "the emperor's name" or else?

I tried to write this question in jeopardy style. In this case, the emperor's name is the question.

Thank you for explain the question. I am not good at English.

Thanks for the hints, really helped for the other questions but I'm still stuck on Q1.
And I kinda brute forced all combinations of all measurements I have, both in metric and feet. I hope it's not crossed (one metric and one feet) and nothing worked

Is Q4 www-able? I tried averything I could find. :/

Not sure what you exactly mean by www-able, but since we already have 1 solver, all the questions are doable.

What I meant was that I can't find anything relevant, no matter what keywords I use for searching.

On question 4 the English IS wrong there. I'm a native speaker and have no idea what it's asking because the grammar doesn't seem to make sense. Edit: This comment helped me: https://www.steamgifts.com/go/comment/ftRp6x2

I agree. I too am a native speaker and I have no clue what he meant. I have been working on this since yesterday.
Perhaps ercalote could reword the question.

Can you give a hint for Q2 and Q4 (or expand the list of acceptable answers for Q4)?

Let me cite @jeffhowe's guidelines for the landmark puzzles: "the goal is more for us to learn and experience and not make others be "stuck" in difficult puzzles."
Considering that only 6 people were able to solve it in almost 2 weeks, some hints would be very much appreciated. I for my part spent way too much time on it (tried last week for the first time) solving only 1 out of the 4 questions. Please keep in mind that this is "only" 1/5 for the weeks set of puzzles and only 1/20 of the month's set.
Without any actual tips this is just way too hard and unfortunately quite frustrating. And no, I can't just quit since I need to solve it for the weekly/monthly ITH.

See jeffhowe's post. He's updated the main post to include November as well and this puzzle will definitely be one of my three when I ask him later.

The update is from over a month ago and it says: "For the month of October." This puzzle here is part of the November set though.

I don't understand what you are asking for in question 4.

Also, are the dimensions in question 1 in meter, or in foot?

Ditto for Q4. Are you asking what sort of ink it was printed with?

Same here, I dont understand Q4, although I read the hint.
Do you want to know which material the collectible itself is made off? Or the type / color of the ink, like redsweater already asked?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

The tower is depicted at the collectible. At this 'image' the tower is made of some elements. You need to name these elements with one word.

I'm still stuck on Q4. Tried 20+ different things, but none worked.
Another additional hint would be nice (like "p----") or something like that.

This is the only question missing to complete Nov week 3.
If you prefer, just answer in one of my old GAs. Thanks!

Am I looking at the right "image" from 1927? Or am I looking at the wrong "image" too?

Thanks I'll keep googling, still no luck sadly. Even tried the one with the Dr.s but that didn't have a 1 eur version. Might just skip this one.

The description says "LESS than 1 €". (Just to prevent you from searching for an item worth exactly 1 €...) ;-)

Thanks for the reminder, I did know that but then somehow during my searching I ended up missing that and started to look for only 1 eur items. grumbles about being stuck

It took awhile to figure what you were even asking in Q4. Now solved. But. I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing with the reveled note once the 4 questions are solved. Is this a further puzzle to be solved?

edit. Ah. the first line is the passphrase. ok then. Is the 2nd line another puzzle?

Bump for solved. My comments:

Answer to question 1 has nothing to do with the tower, except for the numbers, which amounts to brute force and checking Wikipedia.
Question 2 is inaccessible to general audience - people who haven't played the game - without the hints.
Question 3 is most doable, but again, is not that related to the tower.
Question 4 is really hard to search without the hint.

I agree to some of nhahtdh's comments.

  • Q1: Checking Wikipedia (for the specific year) helped me to solve this one in a few mins.
  • Q2: I still do not know what color the tower actually has. Just entered the names of all "animals" using brute force. Also in my opinion this color differs from the tower's color.
  • Q3: Quite doable. I liked this one.
  • Q4: Quite easy when you check the proper "image", which is the most difficult part here.

Another positive thing: No formatting issues! :-)

Anyway, thanks for your efforts on this puzzle!
