Same boat here. But GTA V will be a last gen port. Even if they do an amazing job of the port, there is absolutely no reason to not have it scale back down to Direct X 9 compatibility. No reason in either development terms, and especially no reason in terms of sales, since it would cover a broader range of PCs, which means more money for them. Depends how lazy they are, in the long run.

well they are probably assuming that anyone who didnt already get it on the last gen consoles, was waiting for a next gen version. i doubt it will be dx9, or if it is, it will play like a flipbook

The thing is, as a port, technically it will have native DX9 support. It's simply up to how much work they want to put into optimization and making the game work as intended. Optimization runs across all settings, not just high ones. It can't run worse on lower settings than on high, regardless of what API it runs on.

This would be great, but sadly i can only imagine a nasty high requirements, cuz this will be a console port( we all know about gta4's crappy port)

Quad Core Intel 3 Ghz, 8 core AMD
8 GB Ram
DirectX 11 VMEM 2 GB
Social Club membership

I'm going to bet it would be similar to Watch_Dogs. Open world games that are developed primarily for consoles, and developers with a history of poor optimisation.

It's good to see DX11 only games. The standard should improve and we've had Direct X 9/10 forever now.

Doesn't really matter since it'll have the worst optimization possible.I don't expect shit from Rockstar since that GTA IV failure.

It runs fine on my mid level 3 year old build, maybe you just need a better computer

Maybe because that game is now 6 years old? Ffs that port was horrible no matter if you can run it or not. Ports like that shouldn't be acceptable.

I can play BF4 on High with 45 FPS.It's not my computer, it's a known fact that it's port is terrible.Lags, bugs, random FPS drops, stuttering, delayed mouse on some missions, retarded driving mechanics and tens of other optimization problems.GTA IV was a complete failure.

I agree with Jurjee, it isn't an acceptable port.If GTA V gets released like this, a lot of gamers would rape Rockstar with compliment mails.

I think GTA IV was their first game on that engine, thats why port was bad. This time they should handle it better.

I always turn off or set to lowest anti-aliasing (I like my edges sharp) and I turn off some terrible post effects like ambient occlusion or whatever and I run any modern game on very high (don't care much about ultra) with my GTX 560, 8gb ram and i5-2500 CPU 3.30 Ghz ( 3 year old computer) so I don't think GTA V would be problematic.

Depends on how well it's ported. If the minimum requirements are high, then it's probably a bad port. If it's a good port the minimum requirements should be about 5 year old hardware, since they were able to make it run on 7 year old hardware with lots of optimization.

Technically it's not port, since PC/PS4 versions was developed at same time than previous gen. (This is based on leftover files meant for PC and PS4)

Edit: Also they are adding more traffic which increases requirements greatly.

I'm guessing that it'll be the same as Dead Rising 3(or close to it) since that's the first "next-gen" game to be ported to PC. So about a GTX570/HD7870, 6GB RAM, and a quad core for minimum requirements.

GTA V is not a "next-gen" game. Its still a port of the ps360 version.

If you saw the Next-Gen trailer for it, it shows it is on a very improved version of the engine and looks amazing now.

Doesn't change the fact that its not a next-gen game. Its just an improved version of the ps360 one. A true next-gen game would look way better.
