they marked my giveaway not received despite no attempt to contact and as some of you know i always try to replace and mostly do giveaways that have used keys but the winner for this gi joe giveaway did not mention to me before hand it was used and didn't give me a chance to replace it

edit: i didn't want to single them out but i had a perfect record and with out even talking to me they lost it for me and i really would like to try and have a chance to replace it

Seems that user has a history of that.
Edit: You saw that already.

We know that someone marked a giveaway as not received and did not contact you. That is enough to discuss the issue without showing the specific giveaway or user.

If you want to try to replace the key, I would try to contact them by sending them a message on a previous giveaway they created here or try adding them on Steam. The winner always has the option to change the giveaway feedback to received in the future if you manage to get them the game.

Maybe try to talk to the person and see if it can be fixed, if that doesn't work then all you can do is accept it.

Seems weird to create a thread before you waited to see if they might reply. The user didn't break any rules by marking it as not received, without contacting you first. You still have all options to sort it out and regain your 'perfect record'.

You still have a perfect record: Giveaways Entered: 0

No one can take that away from you.

A bit sad to see.

223 won : 5 sended
Comments: 48
Which means he don't know the word "thanks" after winning a game.

1 GA made in the last 8 years
That two things are enough to know the general direction and that all effort will be, most likely, wasted time.

You can't avoid such people, without to set a min. level req. or limit the GAs a other way.

My 2 not recieved marks comes from "nice people", like him, too -yes, sarcasm-.

I seen people with 30 not recieved marks, and only 80 GAs and they got still not suspended.
So, nothing happen in the end if you don't do, new, AAA GAs and don't deliver them.
As far as i seen, only for that comes the suspension hammer.

So it is, in the end only a cosmetic thing, for people like us that don't do something shady or with a bad intention.

As active as you are it was only a question of time for this to happen. The winner doesn't have the decency to contact you before marking the game as not received - if I were in your place I wouldn't even try to replace the key just out of spite.

Contact them, wait a couple of days (see if they are online on the site but did not respond), then report them to staff. Might have resold your key. You can try to ask Steam support if they will tell you where and when a key was activated I think. So you will know if it was before or after they got your key.

Do not call them out here though. You do not need to show anything to ask how to fix it. People can do a little investigating to find out that themselves anyway without you risking a suspension.

Oh...TC was suspended for a day. Why?

Calling out other users is against the rules. We know someone marked a giveaway as not received without contacting the giveaway creator and that is enough to have a discussion. We don't need to know who the specific user is.

I got 2 blacklists from people who marked my GA as Not received although I tried to give them another key too, so I may say all you can do is accept it :)

Is there a rule against marking too many games as not received after viewing the key? Could you report them? I mean, that's suspicious behavior.

Suspicious, but hard to legislate against.

Well, I guess I'll have to fight against it on my own if it happens, like trying to activate the key I don't want right after it's marked as not received by a suspicious person. I'd rather clutter my library than have my key on the grey market.

The problem starts when rerolled winner said the key had been activated.

I had that happen to me shortly after I joined. I did not know you could check if the key has been viewed and a winner requested a re-roll, which I foolishly trusted, then I ended up buying the game for the new winner directly on Steam. Thankfully, it was on sale at the time.

You complain about someone marking a giveaway as "Not received" and not talking to you first and then you go and create a public thread about it without talking to him first?

Look it up again. OP did try to contact the recipient. There was another user who was a victim of getting their GA not received by the same guy.

RE: "She did not talk to him":
This statement is not exactly true. Your link is not only my source, it's also a contradiction of your statement. She did end up being the first one to initiate contact with him. That and the fact I mentioned that someone else was in that same situation established a pattern with that winner.

Your issue may be that the OP made contact in just a mere 3 minutes time after posting this thread, but the problem already was persistent for 2 weeks due to the winner's incompetence in sending in the memo, per the title of this thread. Sending a friend request is not the same thing, and clearly not as effective as it was the first time around that someone had to do what the OP did even without posting a thread about it. The winner failed to communicate and the OP was left in the dark about it for 2 weeks which was long enough waiting for the winner to say something.

You misunderstood. She did not talk to him. She created this thread without waiting for a reply by the winner.
So she herself did what she is complaining about.
If you don't see the irony in that, I can't help you :)

Edit:
She created this thread and afterwards posted this comment on his giveaway.
Three hours later he replied, telling her he sent her a friend request at Steam to talk about the key but she never accepted the invitation.
