Say you found a Deerbra (Half Deer half Zebra) running down the highway chasing a baby. You knocked out the Deerbra and you downloaded an app to adopt the baby when you go to take the Deerbra to the zoo you will find out that the baby you adopted was an adult with Benjamin's Button's disease and due to the shock and awe as well as wounds you received from the Deerbra you cannot do anything and must sit and home and rethink life as well as recover as you had to get some shots as you don't know what that Deerbra has.

IGNORE THE TEXT OP. NOTHING TO SEE HERE.

Edit: I don't know what VGA means I assumed it meant Video Game Addiction.

Thx man and I have a better joke

Man goes to doctor. Says he's depressed. Says life seems harsh and cruel. Says he feels all alone in a threatening world where what lies ahead is vague and uncertain. Doctor says, "Treatment is simple. Great clown Pagliacci is in town tonight. Go and see him. That should pick you up." Man bursts into tears. Says, "But doctor...I am Pagliacci.

P.S: i just want to play video game right now. everything seems fall apart for the last 2 months. I don't even care.

If you like sci-fi, I would strongly suggest Mass Effect.
Also, a very good horror adventure game just came out - Stasis. It has great art and atmosphere and what sets it apart from other adventure games is that it's isometric.

Oops, looks like I misread your post. I thought you wanted game suggestions. Sorry!

Sorry about your stroke of bad luck, if it's any consolation you're still alive and all you can do is push on and things will get better. As for your VGA choice, both seem like very good cards and depending on the price you're getting, I'd go with the cheaper option (so you'll have some spare change).

Price doesn't matter. I want your opinion. example: How it looks. Cool or "sissy"
(my buddy told me MSI GTX980ti Gaming 6g looks sissy. lol)

Lol, that being the case I'd go with the Asus, not because of the looks but because I've used their products in the past and the performance has always been top notch. :)

From this two ASUS is better and can be OC higher than MSI one
Asus :https://tpucdn.com/reviews/ASUS/GTX_980_Ti_STRIX_Gaming/images/gpuz_oc.gif
MSI : http://www.overclockersclub.com/vimages/msi_gtx_980_ti_lightning/50.png
Anyway you really need GPU for 4K resolution you have proper monitor ? because for 1080P even R9 290 will be enough they can be find for ~250$
Almost forget you have proper PSU for such GPU ?

Games to play:

  1. Witcher 3 http://store.steampowered.com/app/292030
  2. Pillars of Eternity http://store.steampowered.com/app/291650
  3. GTA 5 http://store.steampowered.com/app/271590/

Depends on your budget, do you want to overclock. If it is unlimited and you want to OC, the EVGA GTX 980 Ti Kingpin or MSI GTX980ti Lightning is your best bet.

I just got a 980ti amp from zotac and I'm pretty happy with it so far, so it's the only suggestion I can give since I don't really know the two you mention.

Man... how unlucky.

Am.. i dont suggest blowing all your money and going with a 980Ti, even some high end overclock 960s can get close to the 980 :v, and most 970s too, and since we are there why not look AMD; they are better compatible with DirectX 12 at least this generation, the R9 390 looks like the best option.

In any case, the 980Ti is a beast of a card if you go for it, and shouldn't be a game in the near future that will make it stress.

keep in mind that i game at 1440p with a 7870 and the 7870 was never a top of the line card like the 980Ti xD

Sorry, i might sound like Video Game freak but it's not all about videogame you know? xD
GTX whatever70s lack of VRAM for 3d rendering. whatever60s is 128bit.... so No

and Hell no with AMD, lol

I worked for company that supplied AMD productions 3 years ago. Spend a lot of time with those Geeks in Warranty and RMA department. Oops, can't say no more. don't ask me why.

Its funny because i stopped using NVIDIA because 2 cards died on me, its almost as it cards break down all the time regardless of chip manufacturer :v

hey man its your money, you can do whatever you want with it, i was just making a suggestion :P, also if you are lucky you can get the R9 Fury X for 100 less, and that is the same performance as the 980Ti :v

i've been using nvidia since Fx5200 (my very first card)

  • Fx5200
  • 6800 ultra
  • 8600 GT
  • 8800 GTX
  • GTX 260
  • GTX 470
  • GtX 580 x 2
  • GTX 780
  • Quadro FX 1400
    and Quadro FX 4600

5 of them died in my hand. 3 of them were still in warranty when they died. 8800 GTX still survive after all of these years.

AMD

  • can't remember the first card
  • X1300 and X1600 (my first 2 crossfire)
  • Radeon HD 4580 (6months and go for GTX580)
    work for THAT company
  • Radeon HD 7750 (Christmas gift) RMA ...twice

from the time of HD 7xxx and Rx 200 Series, i "touch" most of them nearly everyday.
don't know the rest since I quit in 2013

good point for AMD so far: bitcoin.

my first card was also an XFX FX 5200, that card performed great for the time, remeber Oblivion beeing thie first game that refused to run on that card xD.

Since that worked i got and XFX 8800GTX, wich died, the famous death that was fixed by baking it, replaced with an Asus 8600GT, wich also died, solid resistor poped up :v!! xD

replaced that one with a secod hand HIS 4670, it worked flawlessly, it was dead silent and gave me great performance, played FarCry 3 at 720p on that one :,D

and sice that worked fine, im using a HIS 7870, dead silent again... :D

All GTX980Ti variants performs the same to me IMHO.

frame rate difference that are below 10fps are negligible for me so I would suggest buy the best spec'd variant your budget can buy.

orrrrrr you can just scrap everything else these guys say and buy a Titan X =p you can't go wrong with a Titan X! =D

hey my cousin got a new pc. he has an Asus NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 960 OC STRIX, 2048MB, GDDR5, 128bit, HDMI, DVI, Display Port with an intel procesor i5 4690, runs about 350-400 fps in cs go medium settings, now what you need to keep in mind on the video card, is that the "display port" is the next best thing, better then HDMI and i think it suports 8k videos, now another thing that will improve your performance is a SSD if you get one you have to be sure that your mother board supports the ssd trafic rate that is about 600 mb/s , there are motherboard out there that support only 300 so that will take your ssd performance to half.
Always fun to build a new pc or improve your computer just be sure your monitor is up for the task.

If you want cool design, low noise choose MSI. EVGA usually are the best after-marketers but their prices are also bigger. I myself like Gigabyte and their WindForce nice quiet cooling while idle and a lot of noise when on full power but low temps. Asus not recommended, just google the break down and see their cooler placing and such... just no. Just take MSI GTX980ti Lightning have fun gaming.

Also as an alternative to Nvidia there is Radeon R9 295 X2 which works better on bigger resolutions those like 2k or 4k otherwise same. It might be ~100-200$ more and not really worth it in my opinion but its an alternative.

Fuck 'em all, OP.

I used to stick to EVGA but the last 2 cards started dying on me pretty fast so when I bought 970 I rolled with Gigabyte. Them 3 fans, though. In the end, the differences are not that big so I suggest just reading up on 'em and choosing what's the best for ya.

I want your opinions especially about how it looks, noise and performance

Oh, well, then I'd say roll with Gigabyte, solely based on my experience with 970 so far.

As for your situation, remember, you can always become Human Ramen.

Sorry for your problems!
What resolution are you playing at? If you play at 1080p, 970 is enough. As for your poll, for the price range of lightning, it really doesn't matter what you pick, just go with whatever is on sale - I would go with MSI or Gigabyte. :D

There should be little difference between the different 980ti models at stock clocks, but once you OC it will show it self. But when it comes to OC it is the luck of the draw for the best binned chips. The Lightning has better bind chips than the strix since it has OC in mind. As for noise you are comparing cards of different generations so there will be big differences.

yes... yes I agree xD
I used 580 lightning in the past. OC for few times but when the age come. I'm too lazy to do it.

If you are going with the lightning, be sure to check that you have enough space, since it uses a triple slot cooler and that you have enough PCI-Express connectors (8+8+6).

Well, I plan on getting the MSI GTX 960 4GB. It's pretty good and cheap. If you have money, you can get the 970 or 980 both of which are sufficient.
There's also the R9 Fury which my friend recommended, but i'm getting a better price on the 960. Hope this is helpful.

Sorry to hear about everything that happened, atleast you can still play games. Gaming is the cure for every sorrow. :)

Edit: Voted for the MSI, since I'm getting an MSI too. :P

MSI cards turn off their fans when idle, so zero noise there. Even, when running a game, the noise level doesn't get very high.

The 970 and 980 look the same as the 960.

Use one GTX 970/980, it can run most games at 1080p+60fps, so I think it's good.

Hi. I'm sorry to hear about your problems, that's a harsh situation. Your story kinda reminds me mine, so welcome to the world of unemployed people with health issues. Assuming that 1985 in your username is a year of your birth, that would be another thing we have in common, just a guess, sorry if it's not that case. :) As for birthdays, I personally hate birthdays so while friends and family tend to forget my birthdays too, I actually think it's better that way as life is too short for me to like to be reminded that I just got older.

Anyway, I don't know much about the latest graphics cards, but according to the review of that one top voted in your poll (and since you say price is not an issue), I most likely couldn't think of a bigger monster than that MSI GTX980ti Lightning card with 6GB of ram, that's more ram than I have in my pc right now lol.

I wish you good luck on choosing a good one and I hope you will get your other issues resolved soon as well.

Take care.
