From the steam store page:

Mac OS X

Minimum:
Supported OS: 10.7.5

Hopefully that makes more sense to you than it does to me

10.7.5 minimal
yours is 10.10.3
See how 10 is bigger than 7? that means your version is newer, and therefore compatible.

Not really, someone said that Mac's have issues with backwards and forward compatibility; so no one knows for sure. The best thing for OP to do is just bite the bullet and try it.

I do most of my gaming on a PC. But I use Macs for work and I have a few Steam games on those because I prefer playing games to working.

I was running Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare fine on a MacBook Pro with OS X Snow Leopard. Then an update broke it. I tried it on a newer Mac Mini with Yosemite and it didn't run.

Since then the system requirements have been changed on Steam from 10.6 (Snow Leopard) to 10.7 (Lion). Which is some massive poop in my opinion, you shouldn't sell a game saying it works on one computer and then suddenly change the system requirements so it doesn't work. But it still runs on my PC so whatever.

I honestly have no idea if the current version works on Yosemite as I haven't tried that since the last round of updates. I can only tell you about my own experience.

I mean, you would hope by now they would have it running properly on the current version of Mac OS - but in my experience Call of Duty support for Mac is pretty terrible. I hope someone can tell you for sure.

Hmm, I have never had a Mac before, but that strikes me as odd. It is like saying Windows 8.1 cannot run Windows 7 or Windows Vista programs. Sure a few games that where badly coded will not run; but most (over 90% will), atleast with windows.

I have been using Macs for a long time. They tend to have bigger problems with both backwards and forwards compatibility. I have a lot of older software that won't work on Yosemite.

Apple have considered support for 'legacy applications' a low priority for a long time and it is something that has caused me big problems. But that alone hardly makes them pointless.

If you are expecting me to defend Macs though then I'm not going to. I have to use them for work. I personally have a very low opinion of Macs at this time.

Well, Windows 7 had issues with some XP programs, XP had issues with plenty of Win 9X programs. Win 7 has issued with plenty of Win 9X programs. And it's not about how good or badly coded games and programs were, after all, you can't 100% predict what will be in a future OS when you design your programs & games. Badly coded would be if the program would not work in its intended environment.
