Hello Everyone, A random new person here. Summer months are coming and i wanted to have this on record. Even though i haven't use this site in a long time i wanted to use this site as extra motivation. I really do enjoy the community and my short time on this site. So there is an exam coming up for me that i need to pass that will help me move on with my career goal. I have failed it once already by a little. i needed a 520 to pass and i received a 499. There was a high chance of me failing due to not having learn all the topics that was going to be on the exam. But i was still super motivated in my studies. Though this time i am still doing my studies but not as motivated compared to the first time. In short i am not happy with the effort i am giving. It is not that i am slacking off, it is me not putting in 100% of the effort or 110%. I am currently going at 70-80% effort.

The exam will be either next month or August. I will definitely take it before September. It depends if i need to push the exam date back depending on my studying progress. The thing is if i actually put in 100% effort i am confidently that i will pass and there is a good probability of passing.

If i fail again i will delete my account and never use steamgifts again. I really do enjoy casually sharing games with the community even if i don't know any of you personally. So it will affect me even if it doesn't seem like it will.

I feel doing this will give me some much needed extra motivation.

Also i wanted to give away this game for the longest time ever since it came to steam.

TLDR - Taking an exam soon, if i pass then everything is great, If i fail then good bye steamgifts.

Also if i do pass the exam, i will make a giveaway for the #1 wishlisted game when i get my results and come back.

I am generally curious as the title states, Any plans for the summer?

Note: Thank you all for the comments and support, i do read all of them during my break time even if i don't reply.

Good luck with your exam.

I don't currently have any plans for summer. Which isn't a great thing, but summer plans are mainly for the kids and for me the idea is to survive summer until they go back to school. :) Well, not really, but if there are any plans for summer, they aren't for my own benefit.

Oh gosh. Exams, tests, and quizzes are all so nerve-wracking, especially when they seriously matter and can affect or determine if you pass a class, major, etc. And I take that you're currently in college/university? Mind if I ask if what year you are in and what subject is this exam for? You don't have to answer or share any of those of course! Personally for me, I'll be a Freshman this upcoming August, so this post & your worries resonated with me. When you mentioned " failing due to not having learn all the topics that was going to be on the exam", oh yeah, felt that tooo many times before. A lot of the times you it's like where do you even start?

Maybe advice isn't what you're looking for (so just ignore these if so), but maybe they will help in a way:

  • Be organized (in whatever way personally means/works for you)
  • If you are always on the move, there's mobile apps like Quizlet that are online flashcards and the simple Google Documents to study wherever possible. Of course, just regular paper/notebooks/flashcards are perfectly useful too
  • Study with another student/friend or group of people (could be motivating & someone can maybe help you out or comforting if you're both struggling in a subject)
  • Remember to take breaks
  • Maybe also reward yourself after finishing something (i.e: memorized a thing ---> take 10 min. break to go outside/eat a snack/watch a video)
  • Sleeping late is not worth it (lol yet, I still do this)
  • Study, then when it's late and you feel/are tired or frustrated ---> just continue on the next day

If your exam results are not the "greatest" or a "failure".. maybe if there's another exam/chance or other opprtunities to improve your grade, try again and maybe you will do well in those. Everyone's situation is different. Your life is not my life, so a failed exam can really be detrimental to your life (as you mentioned, it ties on how to move on with your career goal). Which I understand. All I hope is you don't go too hard on yourself. Like many others have said, best of luck to you.

And for my summer plans: try to fix and take care of my mental & physical health, spend time with my nieces/family, take more photos, prepare for college.. 499 score is almost close... You've got 3ish months to prepare for the next one... you can do it... Godspeed to ya! ✊🏻📚

Well, I had plans xD But then my husband got into a major accident (lost his brakes, lost control, caught air through a cemetary before hitting a house). So most likely, besides working off fines, Im going to be camping and fishing like a fanatic this year, and the mini-trip I had planned waits till next year.

edit: Almost forgot, Goodluck with the exams! :D Im sure youll do well

Thanks :) Surprising, he wasnt hurt that badly. Mostly whiplash, broke his hand, and lots of bruises, but he was alright. Our dog was with him, but she didnt have a single scrap or bruise. The car was completely mangled and twisted up, and scared the absolute shit out of me when I saw it haha but they were alright, which is all that matters in the end :)

That's great! Yep, sometimes things like this happens. Just keep an eye on him, make sure you notice things like he's not walking normally or grabbing any part of his body feeling pain on parts he never did before. Also prolong pain in an area.

Earlier this year my mom fell off the bed had bruises and all, after she recovered the bruises she still feel pain from the side of the head. Most likely she slightly fractured her head which took months to recover, but she did not lose vision, have headaches or other conditions so I let her rest and heal. That scared me too as she never fell off the bed before and she doesnt move alot when sleeping.

Simply wanted to say its up to us, those around them to keep an eye out for them. Cheers and best wishes on his recovery, ^_^

Ouch! Im glad she didnt lose her vision and shes doing better now. I still take care of my granny, so I know how dangerous falls can be for older folks. Hopefully it never happens again to her

And agreed, Ive been keeping an eye on both of them just incase, but theyre still both doing well and acting normally thank god haha And thank you :D Best wishes to you and your mom too!

Yep I remember you mentioned taking care of your granny. Its hard to prevent falls especially when you least expect it but hopefully, I've done enough to prevent many from happening. She might have dementia which is my concern now but that is another battle I have to go through. Thank you for your well wishes and best regards for both our families! ^_^ <3

Its great to make contact with you again, you're ET that visits the earth once each year. XD jk Its summer, 365 days on this tiny island and occasional rain. I don't really have plans, just recovered from a flu after a week. Pretty sure, I want to avoid getting sick again due to this hot and unpredictable weather, that's the most immediate plan. Also need start transferring files from my old PC to current one and play my games more. XD

I wish all the best for your exams, seems like you're a determined individual especially with your actions. YOU better NOT Fail, you get Me!!! I'll see you again and we'll all talk about summer again! GO and destroy the Maths!

Ahh... Trying to put as much effort as you can into work.. Had to do that most of this year as I was writing my bachelors thesis. In the end went well for me. Good luck with your exam and good luck trying to push your efforts to max

Who knows what summer brings - Currently Im looking for a job so not planning any big trips. Only one that I had planned for summer will happen next monday - Ill be going on a hiking trip to Estonia for 6 days. Trails are going through the sea to get to islands.. As I like adventures I dont really look at the plan and go along other people who have planned it if I have a chance, but the target is Vilsandi :D

Then there are small weekend trips to seashore with two/three nights in a tent and hiking around or just enjoying the day..

If you put as much effort into studying as you put into staying in character as a "random new person" on this website...

You will pass your exam easily. :)
