Thanks for the nice thought. I really recommend against dropping gift links though.
For once, you can easily verify that the link and thus key is valid by checking the link. It explicitly tells you whether anyone redeemed it or not.
And by dropping the gift links, not only did you enable ninjas to take the keys but you allowed the first person to take everything even if he already owns everything. Because unlike keys anyone can claim gift links. So it's even 'worse' 'than normal drops, and especially they were pointless because if the link was active you already knew the key would be unused and thus it would have been safe to have made a normal giveaway. 😟
