It's not supposed to be in the marketplace ? Just try to launch the game from Steam now, did something change ? You should be able to connect with your GFWL profile now that the game is linked to it.
edit : "Once that is successful, launch Games for Windows Live application and go to downloads"
I don't think they're referring to the marketplace, but to the GFWL in-game client itself, no ?

I have tried launching the game multiple times now and have got stuck in the same part time after time. I should have the game in my marketplace to get the key which is mentioned to replace the key Steam gave me.
Edit: I can't even login on the in-game client; it just keeps telling me my key is invalid, so it has to be the GFWL Marketplace. Also it's the only application where the downloads section actually is.

I'd like to be of any use to you, I just tried launching my marketplace client but it doesn't even work, while the in-game GFWL client works perfectly. How about forgetting the maketplace and see directly in the in-game client if that key is not hiding somewhere ?
Sorry, just throwing an idea randomly :-/

are you using the version that steam auto installs?
if you are using that version just uninstall and download the latest version. It also solves some lag/sttuter problems with Dirt3.

I bought my copy of GTV IV directly from Steam. After game download and steam instaling requiered extra stuff i just created a GFWL account and entered the key steam gave me (popups).
Wierd thing is that every time i format my pc or i install the game on another computer, my GFLW accout always aks me to enter my key. I enter the same key every time, and after 2/3 minutes i have full access to my account.
Let's just face it. GFLW sucks, Microsoft sucks, Rockstars ability to make ports sucks donkey a**.
P.S. I am afraid of the GTA V PC port....

I'm having exactly the same issues. I contacted microsoft xbox support because they provide GFWL. but my attempts proved fruitless. A quick search on the internet tells me that this issue has been around for a long time.
Anyway, if you solve it somehow, please feel free to post it somewhere. It would be appreciated.

GFWL doesn't exist anymore, if I remember correctly.
Just crack the game with the modified xlive.dll, you bought the game anyway.

Hi!
I have just bought GTA IV from Amazon and began playing it through Steam a few hours ago. Many, including I, experienced the problem with the GFWL where the key given you from Steam doesn't work. So, I went here and did the second option where you go to Xbox.com and redeem the code. Well, the redeeming part went well but when I opened my GFWL Marketplace, GTA wasn't there! So any suggestions or tips on what I should do? I would like the game to work as it's supposed to!
Thanks!
