From my understanding that means you tried the ones from CD but they didn't work. Now it seems they CD drivers work indeed so I wonder what you meant by that sentence.

with the default launcher that comes with the cd, the same error happened
that's why downloaded the driver from nvidia's site

Does your board have an integrated videocard? If so, you might want to disable it in the bios first.
