well now there is no effort involved on getting the cards, so doesn't matter.

The teams event was garbage. Even if that monster event was totally useless it was kinda fun, people have been cooperating beyond what we believed to be possible, Valve didn't even expect that. And unlike the teams event this one was free.

I found it rather fun until people started using wormholes. I didn't know what was going on anymore jumping ten levels at a time (I have slow internet). Farming those bosses for gold until a hero decided it's time to nuke them wasting all the magnets and raining gold... the good old days. It felt like team work.
By the way, this is my first event since I'm new to Steam, so I have nothing to compare it to.
