That's what I thought at first but, on a second look, I think they added separate profile data. It's a randomized name that you can change. In other words they gave a name to your account.

Good idea, I tried different computers/mobile/browsers. But did more digging...
Now, it only happens if I'm logged into Google. I think it's because of Recaptcha. During this same period, now that I think of it, recaptcha started to make me click the pictures and often says it fails even what I got it all correct. I have to do this over and over again before it works. Until then, it was just the checkbox with no images for years.
So, it seems IG is not acknowledging the result of recaptcha failures in the giveaway page, but behind the scenes is not adding the key to my account.

This is a good indication that your IP was flagged for unusual traffic. If you have a dynamic IP, this is not an indication that you did something wrong. You could have gotten it already flagged when it was allocated to you by your ISP. So, if you have a dynamic IP, change it and it'll solve your problem. Otherwise, waiting for the cooldown period to end usually fixes the issue.

Funny thing is it happens on any connection, as long i'm signed into my Google account. So I guess my account is flagged but not my IP. Google will never disclose their secret, of course. Some search results indicate it is a bug, while others indicate it is a blockade of some sort.
I know from using Recaptcha on the admin side of things that site owners can choose between 3 security levels. It's also possible that the sites who give me the most trouble are ones who set it to the most extreme high security mode.
I recently changed ISPs at home and at work, and sometimes use VPN on mobile, so probably some combo of those factors have set off red alerts on my account. Who the heck knows what kind of stuff my co-workers and neighbors are doing on the DSL connection at my job...
