Just a heads up if you're using Quora.

For approximately 100 million Quora users, the following information may have been compromised:

  • Account information, e.g. name, email address, encrypted password (hashed using bcrypt with a salt that varies for each user), data imported from linked networks when authorized by users
  • Public content and actions, e.g. questions, answers, comments, upvotes
  • Non-public content and actions, e.g. answer requests, downvotes, direct messages (note that a low percentage of Quora users have sent or received such messages)

Data Hacker: Initiation giveaway included.

No.
Just passing by.

I feel like these kind of news posts should be accompanied by giveaways for Uplink/Hacknet lol.

Anyway, thanks for the heads-up.

Good idea. Added a 0CV for me, Data Hacker: Initiation, giveaway that is perfect for this PSA.

No, to preserve the timeline, it should be Data Hacker: Corruption first :)

I have an account there that I've only really used for reading, and I log in through a connected Google account instead of with a username and password. What kind of data is "imported from linked networks", exactly? I haven't been able to find much detailing this.

Sounds like not very much, then. Good, that's a relief. Can't exactly change the password on a Quora account with no password.

Just occasionally went on it without an account to check ridiculous questions, tbh ._.

Like everybody else posting here, I too only had an account just for reading.
If there's any questions posted by my account about weird sores on my butt or how to talk to the girl that works at my local starbucks, it must have been the hackers.
