Good news?
One of the best adventures I ever played, I am happy to play it again :)

Might buy it on Steam ASAP, loved it back in the days, so I think they deserve that I throw the money at them. And might actually play it again, as well...

I actually liked it much more than DOTT (as awesome as that absurd comedy was), but my favourite Schafer's game (and second favourite game ever) is still Grim Fandango. I wish that Schafer would somehow find what used to make his adventures from 90s amazing again, but Broken Age leaves little hope; still, these remakes are very welcome.

I played GF for the first time last year and didn't like it that much. The story and voice acting was great, but there were some weird puzzles that were made insufferable by all the slow walking/running. Double click on a transition icon should teleport me to that screen dammit.

I've got a feeling that you're judging a game delevoped almost 20 years ago by modern standards. It's still got almost unprecedentedly brilliant writing, and puzzles do require thinking out of the box (don't forget, Grim Fandango was created back in the days when adventure games actually required using your brain). The only more or less noticable con (to my mind, of course) was removed in the recent remake: we finally got an opportunity to use mouse. Sure, speed transition is nice, but is its absence really a reason enough to give up on the otherwise brilliant game?

Eh, I wouldn't call adventure games back then requiring brain, more like having to resort to a brute force because nothing makes a bit of sense. GF was better in that regard to other games from that era.
I noticed some more objective cons - some puzzles requiring timing - burning beavers and the forklift, that I had to retry dozens of times, even after watching it on Youtube, because for some reason it wouldn't work; also getting to a situation where I could not progress further and had to download a savegame (In the forest, Manny would disappear and the game would stop) and a situation at the docks where animation would be stuck in a loop so I had to kill the game process couple times.
Honestly, since I had no nostalgia for this game (or any other English language adventure game made in the 80s, 90s and early 00s) I wish I'd just watched a Youtube playthrough.

I was 13, I didn't have any access to walkthroughs for obvious reasons, and sure, some puzzles were not easy to solve (my least favourite was the forklift puzzle, can't argue about that one) - but that made them more rewarding in the end. The bugs you were unlucky to encounter characterise modern Double Fine programming level, I've never found any noticable bugs during my numerous playthroughs of the original game. Still, I understand how such things can influence general impression, of course.

"Adventure game logic" or "moon logic" is actually a valid phrase and usually associated with these old point 'n' clicks. Since they had little to no replay value, the developers made them as illogical as possible to prolong game time. A small downside is that eventually you mostly learn to think like them and try to come up with the most impractical solutions, which in many cases is the answer to a puzzle. =)

The price is really good here in Brazil. Which is nice, considering the graphic improvement it got, you can get a similar thing with a hq2x or hq3x filter.
I dont like point and click games due to they usually having inane puzzle solutions but thats one which I did, so I will get it eventually.
When I am on the road.... I am indestructible!

I'm sorry, but "awful game, one of the worst p&c I ever played" and "I generally like p&c a lot" in the same post basically don't make any sense.

Double fine so I'm gonna wait for a bundle. I only buy old titles that aren't on Steam from GoG anyways, and even then my backlog is starting to get out of control ;_;.

Simply one of the best if not the best lucasart adventure ever (well that's hard to judge when talking about lucasarts since most of their games were perfectness incarnate in the genre), that I was lucky enough to play as a youngster. Hits all the right notes, nice puzzles, epic music, topnotch voice acting, an amazing protagonist on all counts (probably the epitome of how a bad-ass character should ever look like in an adventure), great cast and characters and even a very memorable villain too. Humor was great too. Even had noir narration vibes throughout and a plot that you wouldn't exactly call as predictable by no means.
Easily a game that I finished at least 4-5 times throughout the years, and I can still think about at times, when thinking about how a great adventure should look like. 20 plus years later. Yup..
You simply can't ask more of a game in this genre even by today's standards. Glad to hear about the remastered version. I'll certainly get it one way or the other.

I played it a few years ago, can't really remember much about it except for the biker fights (which were kind of meh). It's one of the lesser Tim Schafer games, but it's still pretty decent. I will eventually get it on sale, wouldn't mind replaying it again to remember. Another addition to my Tim Schafer collection. Too bad they abandoned SpacebaseDF-9, it seems like a fun game if it wasn't left so broken.

We had a thread about the announcement almost a year and a half ago, but now finally the remake of the old LucasArts motorcycle gang road movie point 'n' click adventure game, Full Throttle is getting released. The pre-order is already live, but so far it seems only on GOG. The price looks quite friendly at least (15€ full price with 12€ pre-order here).
It may be not a Day of the Tentacle, but I kinda liked it. I know it will be on a 75-80% sale relatively soon, like all Double Fine games, and even wouldn't be surprised to see it in at least one Humble bundle by the end of the year, but this price tag just looks good enough to support the part of Double Fine that still seems to deliver their promises. *coughSpacebaseDF-9cough*
