Is the new Steam moderation bad?
+1 If Steam really was using unpaid volunteers for so long then that sounds horrible.

Wow, that's crazy that they didn't even pay them, instead just hiring someone else.

That was a theory from me, but i may think he got temporary banned for a several small things :
-> Asking for free a paid steam award on a post.
-> The nude woman on his steam page.
-> Posting incorrectly in the suggestions/ideas forum.
The only last reason alone (posting incorrectly in the suggestions/ideas forum) maybe it a little rude alone imo.

The nude woman on his Steam page
You're imagining things.

I was under the impression they mean they posted a suggestion for a new type of award people could buy/send/receive, not asking for one personally.

"So i made a post about a new award i would like...incorrectly in the suggestions/ideas forum."
If this was your first time doing something like this, I'd have given you a warning. Or at most I'd give you a one day suspension. But that's just me and my way of moderating.
I voted that the moderation isn't bad, at least from my somewhat limited experiences with them. I didn't even get a warning for my shitposting in a ten year old spam thread in The Basement Collection forums, so I can't say they're strict. lol

Sounds like you were begging.

For me, I can't really trust a post complaining about being kicked/banned/etc where the events that lead to it is being super vague. Typically that might even indicate the poster is intentionally withholding details, knowing that maybe they were in the wrong and the details with make them look bad (and not saying it's definitely the case with you, just that I have my doubts).
Without knowing what you posted exactly, how and where... I can't rightfully express my opinion of the way you were treated.

Wasn't there a revision and clarification of the terms and conditions around May 10?
I believe that i was unfairly treated by the Steam moderation recently.
For example, if something similar to this is said in the SteamCommunity....

At any rate, we at SG may want to re-read the revised guidelines and terms and conditions.
Well, there may be some matters that can be avoided if they are not done within Steam's Community and are sent out to the SG side?

Nothing offensive at all.
Then show it to us. Majority of cases when someone says something like this, its borderline pornography.
for posting incorrectly in the suggestions/ideas forum
So where did you post it? If you are not actually showing where you posted it, I am pretty sure it was unrelated topic or forum.
So in conclusion - You are giving us nothing to support you by and just want to get on "steam bad" train. Majority of cases like this its unwarranted and the user in question got ban or whatever for a good reason. I'm not saying the support is all good and that you got the ban deservingly, but you have to provide some context here.

In my experience mostly these "I was banned for no reason" got banned by creating veeeery explicit content which is seriously on verge with porn, so not out of context IMO.
Sorry if it's not your case, but that was my point - if you also provide what specifically got you banned, others can objectively give their opinion on whether you truly got screwed by mods or no.

I only had quite the great experience with Steam support thus far. Granted, I barely ever needed to contact them.

I'm with some of the others here, without seeing the wording of the request it's hard to say. Based on some of the comments here though, I suspect they may've thought you were asking them to give you an award, as opposed to requesting a new type of award be created. Otherwise I don't see how suggesting a new type of award be created in the suggestions section would be improper conduct.

I believe that i was unfairly treated by the Steam moderation recently. So i made a post about a new award i would like (you probably know you can award profiles, posts etc.). Nothing offensive at all. Got me a one week ban from all common non game forums, for posting incorrectly in the suggestions/ideas forum. I wrote support for appeal but they said it was applied correctly, and now i feel bad about it since i don't understand the reason for banning me (i can't see how my post was offensive OR posted in the wrong forum either). I have always managed to appeal those bans i found strange before. It is just that it isn't only me, lots of ppl have been complaining of the new Steam moderation (where the mostly kind and friendly volunteer mods were replaced by, imo, harsh paid ones without any sympathy).
