Apparently my first blacklist was in February 2015
Don't worry about the blacklists though, there are loads of people who like to blacklist people for their own reasons, some of which I see the point of and some of which I don't. In the end of the day it's their giveaways so they can do whatever they want.

Saying that you're only here because you want free stuff is a good way to end up on blacklists. Also, unless you plan to give something back to the community, you're going to restrict yourself from being able to enter a lot of giveaways since a lot of them require you to have gained a level or two.

Yep, I am on a few blacklists myself, probably from people on this thread. Honestly give zero fucks about it.
People will blacklist because they don't like your views you expressed on threads,
Some blacklist because they don't like your ratio,
Some blacklist because you didn't thank them after winning in the giveaway tab itself like they are craving some kind of approval for their actions,
Some blacklist just for the heck of it.
In every community of any size, they will always have trash along with treasure among the users, just ignore them and move on because out of all the people on here, you won't even notice them most times.

It's just a click to blacklist, and no consequence for themselves, easy to do. Don't worry, there are a lot of people actively giving, you wouldn't even notice even 50-100 blacklists :)

Not being suspicious, just being honest. Been on this site since around 2 years now and just how it is. And been online since around 1995 and that is how many people are online in general.
As Adam1224 said, Blacklisting on here is just a single click and costs them nothing. Funny enough timing we even had a thread on here a few days ago where a guy was asking to get the blacklists expanded because his was full and the blacklist goes up to 1,000 people I believe.

There is also whitelist for this. People can make giveaways just for the members of their whitelist.

I wish it didn't tell you how many blacklists you're on. The only time you should know you're blacklisted is if you can't see a giveaway.

You could just not look. I don't know how many blacklists I am currently on and I don't care. I'm not petty enough to feel the need to reciprocate. I find it hard to respect somebody that silently adds you to a blacklist instead of discussing whatever issue they have with you.
Having an opinion of any sort will offend somebody, so if you participate in the forum, you will end up on blacklists. However, even saying nothing will get you on other blacklists. There are people here that are offended if your etiquette doesn't align with their expectations, stated or not. You'll see that peoples' innate tribal drive to classify people as either belonging to the same subgroup or as outsiders shows up as elitism based on wins/gifts or "Real" Contribution Value ratio. If you want to appear on as few blacklists as possible, just accept whatever conditions have been set on giveaways without complaining or asking for an exception and try not to say anything too controversial in the forum. However, there is no way to avoid it entirely, so I recommend not giving it too much thought. Whatever you did to get on somebody's blacklist, you can bet that doing the opposite will get you on somebody else's. If you treat people with respect and behave in a way that leaves you with a clear conscience, it will not only be good for your mental health, it will be noticed by others and you'll end up on some whitelists. You will still get blacklisted, but you can't please everybody all the time, so please yourself and those that hold similar values, and don't worry about those that hold contrary values. No matter how many blacklists you end up on, there'll still be plenty of love remaining here on Steamgifts as long as you respect the site rules. Even if you don't, you still needn't worry about blacklists...because you'll be banned from the site.

You forgot the 1-2 days suspensions on 2 others, one from each side, but yeah as you said, barely any drama at all compared to how it's been between those 4 before though I've tried to avoid those topics as much as possible, so I'm not 100% sure

I don't know much of what has been said and done since I don't check the forum that often, but if it's been worse in the past like you said, I could imagine mods got fed up of the ongoing feud(?) and decided to suspend them as a warning, like enough is enough, get your shit together. Just my two cents, maybe I'm wrong.

I registered to steamgifts around a year ago. Dunno to be honest when. Probably because I friend said I had to join or there was a giveaway at that time I joined. To be honest I forgot about steamgifts totally until a friend gave me a link to this again. That was a bit more then a week ago. I decided to gift some things away on the site as well a day later.
The first person I blacklisted was a guy yelling at me that I was re gifting things I won here. That person was also the one who blacklisted me and the only one I know of. That was 2 a 3 days ago. The second one I blacklisted yesterday.

Just like in real life, you can't please everyone on the Internet... Blacklists are to be expected, just don't let that prevent you from taking part in the community. For the most part, people are nice here. Most of the time.
I have no idea how long it took me to get on my first BL and don't care enough to check, but I suspect it must have not been long after registering and starting posting. If you want to avoid being blacklisted, don't post on the forum, always redeem your wins on your Steam account, don't win the same game more than once and give back a little from time to time, so that people who really care about ratio won't blacklist you for having an awful one.
