[ENG/GER] From Retro Fans to Retro Fans - To collect or find all Retro Games on Steam! (From 19xx to 2006)

Before is start: For Uncut! is a great name and i'm a huge fan of this group, i hope that's okay, if i use the simple but brilliant name FOR RETRO. This is not only a stupid copy. I want to create a big universe like you, but FOR Retro.

I looking for Admins & Staff Members // Mitarbeiter gesucht!

Hey there, Retro games have a huge fanbase, but not a complete list on Steam. This should be the best help / way to find old retro games from the past to 2005/6 on Steam (I think 10 years are okay.)

You can help to find all Games from 19xx to 2006
And you can help if you follow, invite and share the group to make it to a big place of retro gaming!!!!

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Happy retro gaming! :)

Awesome group. I'm actually excited with the increasing number of titles which were console exclusive in the past and are available on Steam now. I think the nicest surprises of the last months were Bayonetta and .hack//GU. I still hope we get the original .hack games, though.

You're Welcome. :)
Yeah i really like this too. So we can play Wii games (Zombi, de Blob 1+2, Some old PS2 games like Sphinx, now DMC etc.)
Next Mega Man X Collection

I think, because many japanese titles comes now to steam, because they're become more popular then before.

Just saw this about larry, wanted to post, but seems you beat me to it, kinda bull to sell each game seperately at 4 euro, while GOG has a package. :/

I'm just waiting for the inevitable sale.

But I do want to point out, the Leisure Suit Larry bundle is $23.73 on steam and the whole series is $21.97 on GOG before discounts, so if you're getting everything the price is not that far off. The big difference is that Steam allows purchasing each game individually (at a higher cost), whereas GOG bundles 1-6 together.
side note: I actually prefer the pixelated graphics of the original over the Reloaded game

I can't take a guess what the differences would be with discounts (and if they would have a good sale on it on steam in the future).
I mean the latest Zork and Swat games haven't been on sale or in a bundle so far either.
Unlike this one think a bunch were in a humble bundle and the missing rest were cheap during a christmas sale.

I already got Reloaded on steam from some bundle in the past, the one with his nephew was a crap game and would only want it for collection sake if it was cheap, and while i got 1-7 on GOG, it be nice to have atleast 1-7 on steam too.
I grow up with Sierra and Lucasarts games, so hope eventually to see all of them on steam, like the Camelot games, Laura Bow, Manhunter, Eco Quest, Willy Beamish, some that are for now a GOG exclusive.

Have only played Reloaded for 15 minutes, it kinda felt blend and boring yeah, but it's a remake of remake of a remake (softporn > ega > vga > reloaded) If it ain't broke don't fix it, just as movies, games don't usually need a reboot. Same for the Gabriel Knight one.

Microïds, actually Anuman, have this little thing i love where they dont release patches even when the game isn't running correctly , so better to read reviews before buying.

For their games like Moto Racer 4 or exist games before too? As Exemple MegaRace runs fine.

That one for being a direct port, ran more or less like the PS4 version, terribly. But the old moto racers didn't run properly either, hell one of them did not run at all. The GoG version of the classic moto racers works even when its the same publisher, Anuman.
You have games like the Dracula series that are missing the cutscenes.
You have terrible indie meme games like Garfield Kart with frame rates that can fluctuate between 100+ to barely 20fps on the same track.
Basically if the game it's screwed on release, it will likely stay that way.
And this one is also a console port (hd remaster for the current gen)

We'll see. Patches are anytime possible. So i patched Moto Racer on Steam with a fix and it worked now fine.
Not the best move by the Publisher yeah, but I'll give it a try, because I love this game so much.

probably the same "fix" i used.
Files extracted from the GoG version, including a different more detailed launcher...but from a version you didnt pay for.

Do you have any memories with Hellgate: London? :)

This is not the Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice sequel I was hoping for. ;)

I actually remember trying a demo of Hellgate way back when. I remember it being kind of disappointing, where after finishing the demo I had no interest in getting the full game, but it could have just been a poor demo. The Longest Journey is one of my favorite games, and its demo was terrible - picking the least interesting part from the middle of the game with no real context or motivation. If I had just based my opinion on TLJ's demo, I never would have played the game and would have missed out.

I think there are some Amiga remake games missing on the list? Did I miss Inherit the Earth?
Charlie The Duck was an Amiga game and I think Canyon Capers was too?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

oh thanks.
The first 3 games Inherit the Earth and Charlie the Duck 1+2 are retros okay!
Canyon Capers is the remake of the 1992 one. (Not 1:1 games with new graphics)
Has new levels, a new game, so to speak.
