Yes, today I preordered my copy of Fallout 4, yay :D
I love the series, Fallout 2 was my first one and still I love him deeply more than the others :)

Thus I decided to make a Fallout themed puzzle.
The prize are: Crimsonland, Neverending Nightmares, Beatbuddy: Tale of the Guardians and FOTONICA, all Level 1+.

Do you like the Fallout series too? If so what's the best chapter for you? :)

Cheers!

Answers:

Q1:
We all know those lovely Radscorpions, but do we know what KIND of scorpion they were before radiations and FEV mutated them?

(Yes we know, I want to know what species they were :P )
American Emperor Scorpion or Emperor Scorpion or Pandinus imperator

Q2:
One Vault, quite na historical one in the Fallot series, was programmed to not close it's door in time to see what effect radiation had on the humans, this was the Vault number...
12

Q3:
...and how it's called in the post-apocalyptic world?
Necropolis

Q4:
Who was the first vault dweller?
It was Richard Moreau, guilty of homicide (never confirmed) in Vault 8, took the name of Richard Grey and start dwelling. Later it will become the Master. (All answers were correct). Notice that I asked who was the first Vault Dweller, there are many ghouls who wandered the Wasteland, especially from Vault 12, before him, but they are not strictly "Vault Dwellers". Evil? Yes :P

Q5:
If in New Reno (Fallout 2) you find a brahmin in distress with a distended stomach, what happens if you use Doctor on it?
You get a fusion cell/Fusion Cell/Get Fusion Cell/You get fusion cell :P

I never really got into fallout. I got fallout 3, but was so bad at the game that I never even got past the Wasteland Survival Guide quest. I got lost searching for mole rats and that's where I stopped playing.

It's a name or a nickname (both correct)

The first one I played was the 3rd. Played around 150h on XBox 360.
Then I played New Vegas, then Fallout 1. I started playing Fallout 2 but got lost in the forest near the first village ^^ I'll definitely give it another try one day, and I also still have to play Fallout Tactics.

Really looking forward to Fallout 4 ^^

For the RPG and interaction with NPCs and situation I loved the 2, the 1 is cool as well but it's "too free", I got to the final boss at level 3... :| Needless to say I got burned :P

3 and New Vegas are really great too even if I miss some "stupid" option like taking 1 charisma and 1 intelligence (in F2 was really hilarious)

Tactics is something aside, more focused on the combat and with only the character build as "RPG element" (and some little choices toward the end). I enjoyed it even if I hardly think of it as a "Fallout game" :)

I preordered Fallout 4 today as well :D
Unfortunately it's not for me but for the one who wins my Fallout 4 GA D:

I started Fallout 3 maybe 4-5 times, but never completed even the main story. Usually I'm a fan of RPGs but the Story just don't appeal to me and the Gameplay is... it could be better.

I agree on that, F3 story is somewhat predictable and not really catchy, I'm one of the few who like the New Vegas story more talking about Bethesda.
But the Interplay's Fallouts were better, imho :)

Aaaannndd that's the reason I never finished it, always ended up in the wrong too strong areas or even game boss at low level, I've it on gog ready to be played again to try to finish it this time :P

Well, game did tell you where to go, more or less. Maybe not with big MUST-GO-THERE, but it did give hints what should be your next stop.

Let's say I've the "explorer syndrome" and I like sidequesting a lot, so if I see a new area I'm like "Ohhh shiny, let's see what there is in there!" XD

Uhm... puzzled, I enter 4 way to say Q4

Well, it doesn't accept the canonical ("The Vault Dweller/Vault Dweller") or the Interplay canon one (Albert Cole).
No. 5 still no. I checked if I got it mixed up with a small battery, but no.

Ah well. I bought the same bundle anyway, was just curious about a Fallout puzzle. Especially since it was made by someone who doesn't think himself a "fan of the series" just because he played Fallout 3. :) (Which is about as Fallout as BoS was. ^^)

Cole / Dweller is the second one ;) Can't say the answer here but if you are still interested I'll show them sunday :)

Ahhh, yup, personally I think that playing the 3 or New Vegas is not enough to understand how big and fun that universe was... let's hope Van Buren project really returns to life as they say!

I gave up hope on the Van Buren revival a few times so I'll just wait but don't expect anything.

Second…? o.O You really know something I don't then, because AFAIK the FO1 PC was the first one.

I have all the Fallouts (thanks GOG, thanks old playfire) but the last one, of course. And the problem now is finding time to play them :/ After playing 300 hours to Skyrim and not advancing in the main story I'm really afraid. I played a bit to Fallout 1, but ragequitted after everybody tried to kill me in the city I wanted to enter :\

I've played the Fallout series since Fallout 1, and I think 2 is my favourite. 1 has a better "tone", but 2 has more content and general variety. The only Fallout to date that has disappointed me was Fallout 3 (no, I've not played the Xbox exclusive Fallout), but New Vegas more than made up for that disappointment.

Happy to hear that, we think alike on Fallout then :)
My only lacking is Fallout 1, I've started it 3 or 4 times but I always end up in an high level area and get killed, I should be mroe careful :x

I've played all of them and thought I'd be good with this puzzle, but not at all. Know none of them out of my head! I guess I'd need to research some.

My favorite is New Vegas. I have a severe case of "explorer syndrome", so Fallout 3 was perfect for me. It was large, a lot of hidden lore and weird places to find/explore, and then New Vegas just improved all the mechanics and its story line was even better (with more faction intricacies).

I played the older ones too, and while I really enjoyed the tone, they are much more difficult due to how they play and exploring isn't nearly as possible as in the 3rd or New Vegas.

I'm really curious about the 4th one. I'm trying to keep spoiler free, but it's difficult, since everything about the game is a spoiler to me. I really enjoy discovering everything, so not knowing even the big line of the plot, the setting, or anything really, is really important to me.

Same here about Fallout 4, I'm avoiding all articles and stuff XD Some manage to pass the spoiler barrier just with the titles tho... darn them! :|
Now I just need to not try to think to much to the release date, I must focus on the fact I have Witcher 3 to finish meanwhile :P

Bump for luck. Thanks for the puzzle and the giveaways!

(Haven't played all the Fallout games yet, so I can't say which game was the "best". But of the three titles I have played [1, 3, & NV], Fallout: New Vegas was my favorite.)

I own the games, so I won't bother with the puzzle, but I think my favorite was 2. I spent more time in New Vegas, but I think 2 had the best charm. I liked the first, but it really hasn't aged as well as 2 and I think 2 was more engaging.

Probably because the first one tried to be very serious despite all the 1950s nuclear age nostalgia satire theme, whereas FO2 was full of campy pop culture references and cheese.
I mean you spend half a day arguing with a talking stone head who eventually gives you a cookie that permanently boosts your combat skill. And that is one of the saner encounters.
