Unfortunately a lot of VR games on steam feel like they are demo's yeah, although there are most likely some pretty good games between them, personally i'd look forward to Star Trek Bridge Crew (i got over 350 so probably some i forgot about)..
And with the Ps vr it came with no so bad games either (Skyrim, Astrobot, Resident evil 7, a golf game and some demo thing).
Playstation i think will have more fully developed VR games and less "demo's" but yeah it's also only a handful (about 50 maybe?).
Being so pricey for both a set and rig isn't helping the market, and for devs not very profitable to make (large) games, hope it will change in coming years.
Good question if it would work on ps5.
I must say this was called VR pack 2, but there was only 1 store that was still selling a Ps VR set, so maybe they are going to get sold out or working on a pack 3/other VR set? I fear it's gonna be sold out though.

In France there are a lot of online or physical store selling the PS Vr and it's the "days of play" (dunno if Sony made similar on other country ) with a lot of sales . I can take the ps vr headset + camera + 5 games (same as you ) for 230€
really want to try this but seems a gadget thing like the 3D some years ago (i mean not in game but like the 3ds with glasses and special monitor ) ^^ but well number of games is larger with VR so we can hope for the future .

VR certainly improved since the 90's. :p https://youtu.be/dji9YiPZ4AM?t=32
And non of those stores got a test machine? Some places like special events do have a vr system to test, i never tried it so no i dunno how "real" it all feels, and the motion sickness etc.
Well even as a gadget if we want something with holodeck quality in x years we have to keep buying these things else it will just be a gadget and a "dud" that will fade away like in the 90's.

I got a PSVR a while ago, wished it could play steamVR games before, but never actually thought it could, thanks for the info! I'll have to try sometime.

Well if i have coins, i can put the controller in and grab some balls, when i am out of coins and move the controller to the left (which doesn't go smooth with me) the machine closes, but then i can look left and right, but no way to leave the room, to play the levels.
Shame games didn't came with some manuals (digital downloads).

Thanks, will try.
The whole VR thing is better then i expected, shame with text up so "close" i still need glasses which isn't really great with a ps VR.
But there are worse things. ;)
Oh and suddenly went getting black screens, plugged everything in again properly, hope it helps (took a break).

i think the ivry driver is only a few mins then kicks . + there is no 3d sound . i think they got there drivers and set up from gusmanb tested and did work https://github.com/gusmanb/PSVRFramework . only problem had was if you do pic vr for movies they say use sound from the pc but could not seem to get that working .."In vr mode there's no sound as we don't have a driver for the 3d positional
audio device. You must use the audio output from the computer. If you lose
the audio from the computer check the selected audio device." not sure if there any other people that did work on psvr for pc . did not do a lot of testing but did get it up and running . will get back to it at some point

Step one: Download TrinusPSVR and follow the program's instruction for setting up the headset.
Step two: Pay for the full version or use Cheat Engine to bypass the trial period (google it, I'm encouraging piracy here)
Note: It's only for the headset. If you want the motion controllers to work, you'll need to buy two PlayStation Eyes (The PS3 Webcam) and two bluetooth receievers for your PC. It's kind of a mess to set up, but it's possible.
Still, even if you don't use the motion controllers, some games support mouse+leyboard or normal controllers with the headset, and you can see videos in VR. You know which ones. wink wink
Also, TrinusPSVR can converts some game to SBS 3D so you can play normal games in 3D, but don't do it with online games or you could get banned, since it modifies the game's .exe. If a game already has a SBS mode, you can also play it in 3D without much hassle.

I thought about going this route, but wasn't aware of the software. I'll be interested to read about your experience trying it.

Well i was going to try the ps4 first then steam, but boy is it a hassle to even hook up, unplug the hdmi from the back of your ps4 then put it in the vr box (gets really hot btw) then add 2 more hdmi in it, then there is a powercable. and the camera you all have to plug in (with 3 other consoles nearby it's even more of a cable mess.
The thing on steam seems far better then Trinus (from what i read) nor would i really want to bother with stuff like cheatengine to get a cracked cropy (to each their own), i could try the demo on steam but how far would that get me? In 3 weeks i will buy it and then explore my steam library. You can bump this to remind me if you want.
This is not a great set for having glasses (closeby i can see, further is a blur) but when your glasses are just an inch not properly the whole thing will be blurry. It's a minor tidbit (if you got glasses).Still from what i tried with Astrobot it amazed me, better then i expected it to be.

Thanks for the head's up on the deal. I went ahead, and ordered mine. I've never seen it on such a low sale. The headset alone even used is 400+.

Hope you enjoy it.
I will put a disclaimer in op since since essentially what i missed it if you are wearing glasses (atleast for the ps VR) but i think any set suffers from it, it could damage your VR lenses, you can buy specialized lenses but they are expensives and can still get damage, while the cheap solution are 2 rubber pieces so you create some distance for your glasses (or use a 3d printer if you got one), i ordered 2 for 12,50 euro, have to wait 2 weeks it coming from france (they sell them in the US also on ebay).

So i ordered a Ps VR set with 5 games for 250 euro (100 off) and i thought maybe weird to think, but if it was possible to use it on pc, and especially your steam library, and not have to have a more expensive set, and yes it's possible.
There is a thing called Trinus and this https://store.steampowered.com/app/992490/iVRy_Driver_for_SteamVR/ which you can try for free.
I am getting it tommorow so am excited to try it, offcourse don't expect maybe the same quality as a Vive, Oculus or Index, there might be some controller issues here and there, and you still need a decent pc for VR.
Thought letting it out there for who didn't know.
