No signal. Computer works on the new cheap GPU I just bought...

Flashes leds, revs up, but no picture at all...

Only thing that really changed with computer is removal of 3 HDDs... And moving it a bit.

Hmm, dunno what I shold do with this second computer. It should be able to run a few things with Q9300 and 8GB ram...

Bummer. :( One thought, some cards from the old days came with a lifetime warranty. For example, I still have an old 7900 GT from EVGA which still works, but if it ever broke they'd take care of it. Note: you can see why nobody does this any more. :)

And this, kids, is why you never buy AMD products.

Edit: No flamewar intended. My personal experience is that anything from A-brands (Intel/nVidia) hasn't given up on me, unlike certain other brands who've died on me within a year of purchase.

OP, what would your budget be?

I think I have to aim around 250-300 including the new PSU.

NeoHE 450W is bit low and new PSU will last for sometime anyway.

You could get anything from HD7850 - HD7870 - HD7950 or, if you want to switch to NVidia, GTX 660 - GTX 660 Ti - GTX 670.

Look for a PSU you like and see how much you're left with.

To help you decide, also look for benchmarks specific to games you'll actually play: there can be a noticeable difference in a some cases.

Oh, unless you are in a hurry, waiting for for the first XMas sales is always a good idea: late November, early Decemeber isn't that far away. :)

Yes, if they are as good as AMD is saying, all the older cards will get cheap fast...

is not bad $ 300 for vga / psu, (you probably will be enough even less) you'll come out something good. Ati hd 7850 + decent psu, for example corsair/antec/cooler master etc

I think I would not put anything more than a 7850, not make the most with the old processor. What monitor u have? resolution. sorry for bad english

While it was in the computer? Because if it wasn't, you might have electrocuted it with static electricity.

I heard my dad vacuumed the computer. But he should know the handling. Some weirdness even before this I think.

That's probably what killed it. Vacuuming creates static build-up. Most of the time everything will be fine, but sometimes it won't; the only way to make sure it's fine is to use a vacuum cleaner with a metal tube and ground it.
