Do you ever stop entering a giveaway if you don't win the game?

I'd still go for it, personally. Points regenerate fairly fast, especially times like now with high bundle traffic, and you don't have to pay anything beyond, so you've nothing in particular to lose

I tend to weigh up the P to enter and the amount of entries the GA has gotten. I wouldnt spend more than 20P on a GA with over 1000 entries unless it was something I reallllllllllly wanted.

Also, never give up on Fortix.

Yes. Kept entering Mark of the Ninja until it was on Humble Bundle.

Well, now I feel bad. One of the first things I did on this site was enter a giveaway for The Ship (749 entries) and won it immediately. It really set expectations high for the site, haha.

I only enter games that I want, and I keep entering them until I win them, they appear in a bundle, or show up in a really good sale.

You don't want to know how many times I've entered for FTL and a few other games on my wishlist. Fortunately, points comes really quickly. Especially with active bundles of higher value games (i.e. Batman games).

Nope. I have however stopped entering for Awesomenauts and Booster Trooper since I should have both but I never got them after winning them, no point in wasting point to relive that experience.
Depending on how badly I want the game VS wanting others a game I've often entered and never won does sometimes slip down my priority list a bit in favour of other games that I now want to win more which sometimes means I don't have any points to enter for those games again for a while whilst I concentrate on others.

You get points so fast so no real need to stop, if you really really want a game and dont have the money to buy it yourself then ofc you dont stop.

I'm trying to win stuff from my wishlist...at least those titles that are available here (classics+new games). Right now I'm looking for Portal 2, Half-Life 2, Bioshocks, Borderlands 1+2, The Stanley Parable and Gone home. And, naturally, Fortix.

Well in the case when a Humble Indie Bundle or Steam Sale Apocalypse happens (what terrible names I picked :P) and I get tons of points I will off course enter so I don't waste points. But in some cases when I'm short on points, I need to remove some entries, and The Ship is usually the first thing that gets removed.

Some good posts here, but I really think that after so many entered giveaways I want to give some other games a chance. And to be honest, I'm not that much interested in the game.

I was trying to win The Ship too and i kept entering more and more giveaways and i won it.

Keep going for the games you really want, that is most important, no matter how many points you have to spend.

Most of the games in my wishlist don't appear in giveaways here (or rarely), but I make sure I always enter them. For the rest, I filtered a lot of games I'm simply not interested in so I always have too many points to spend. Even though I go on SG several times a day, I always find the list quite empty, haha. But yeah, anyway, as long as I don't own the game and I want it (more or less), I'll keep trying!
