I'm sure the vast majority of you have installed an Ad Blocker such as Adblock+ or similar and never really think about them, but if you really enjoy a site that costs you nothing to use you should consider adding the site to your whitelist.

SG has no fees to use, no "gold" points or "premium" membership; this site operates entirely off of your ad revenue.

As well, the ads are very unobtrusive. It only shows one ad, at the very bottom of the page. If you don't scroll to the bottom of each page you may never see it at all. Any ads that overstep their bounds are quickly dealt with and I can't think of any reason I would want to deny SG it's rightful earnings.

So, who's on board?

I use adblock for two reasons. One to see less adds and two to be a bit more safe when it comes to bad scripts. Ads have been and still will be often a way to get bad software onto your computer.

Which means even when I'm willing to disable adblock to see the ads on a specific site, I won't do it because of my second reason. The owners of the site don't create those ads, they are not to blame, but they still displaying them without knowing when such a "bad ad" is happening.

If I noticed correctly such an attempt do get bad software onto your computer happened yesterday here on this site as far as I gathered from a thread yesterday here in the forum.

it is this thread, and that's exactly why I will keep it running. It already has a default "allow non-intrusive ads" setting, that should be enough

Do you even generate ad revenue by unblocking it? Don't you get revenue from ad clicks and referred purchases? So even if you unblock it nothing will change as you probably don't click it. Unless it does generate revenue just from seeing it.

Just noticed that they are ADS.
I mean I knew that, but they are so well integrated with the site and for a change related to the site's topic that I never thought of them as such.
Lets face it, it's not something that can easily be said in general.

Never used any Adblockers and never will. Most free websites can only exist because of ads. There are some black sheeps that go too far and bomb their websites with ads, but that's another story.

You mean those 4 ref links at the bottom? They're there even with adblock. But it's probably the best, unitrusive ad I've seen on the internet so it doesn't bother me.
