A friend asked me to get him every single game on steam.
And this got me wondering, for the lolz, how much would buying all of steam cost?
I don't even know how to calculate it, with or without sales?

I mean, sure, you can enter this giveaway instead. But just in case you don't win.

Whos smart enough to come up with the answer? First one to get it will win the internet!

Probably £200,000+ to buy every single game that is purchasable on steam.

I have about 50% of all games that have been released on Steam, and through various sales and indie bundles I've spent about $2,500. So my guess would be somewhere between $5,000-$6,000 if you could buy it all on sale.

You are the closest one to win the internet.
Eventhough I think theres a few insane prices like that..train..thing that costs like $300.

So is it safe to assume that it will cost $6,0000 with discounts and everything?

wait my mistake the train simulator 2013 costs over $2,600.

I just hit "add to cart" on the "All DLC" section for that game and Steam crashed.

The Steam Store is experiencing some heavy load right now. Please try again later.

But when it goes for 75% off (which most of the DLC does frequently during sales) it can all be had for $648.45

I have 601 games (excluding free and DLC) and that accounts for £4900 ($7500) apparently. That doesn't really seem to match up with what JShackles just said though in terms of numbers.

Maybe it would be cheaper if you just become a Valve employee :3
edit: apprently $26805.72, according to http://steamdb.info/calculator
edit2: could be $26809.71 too, so its save to assume that 27000$ would be enough. (you could use the rest to hire someboday to add all these games to your cart)

Actually it costs more than 16.700$ (last checked with some dude that actually had them all, confirmed by steamdb) :D

(No sales, or any price lowering included, price is AS IS)

I think he's talking about guy who won the entire catalog (including future games) during the 2011 Steam winter sale.

Wasn't that just like 100 games? ("just" 100 games -- I could probably not even come up with 100 games I'd want if I won that, lol)

Nah, grand prize was entire catalog. I think 100 games may have been first place prizes. I do know for a fact that first 10 items on wishlist was also a prize. Rest of the details are a little hazy.

1 tripsemit. What is a tripsemit? Well it is a currency I made up just to answer this question. And how much is 1 tripsemit valued at? 1 tripsemit equals the total value of every single item, game, DLC, add-on, etc. on Steam.

There are games that are just $5, then there are those like Train Simulator + DLC that are over $2000. Who knows?

Theoretically since there's a database with all Steam prices, one could try to sum up all non-discounted prices for a certain region and get the answer.

1929 games available for purchase on Steam,
377 games $5 and below,
855 games between $10 and $5,
167 games between $15 and $10,
323 games between $20 and $15,
and 207 games more than $20.

So I went ahead and totaled the amount for games more than $20, and that came out to 7343. That means you could be looking at as much as $26,743.
