Steam Gifts (new system) - regional restrictions

I've made a giveaway for WItcher and after one reroll I had to ask support to delete giveaway because it was region locked because price difference between Euro zone and Brazil and Russian Federation.

However, my giveaway for Withcer 2 was won by Chinese user and there was no problem in sending gift even if it is similar ratio as for Witcher 1.

I suggest that you implement some kind of notification if user select Gift when creating giveaway linking to SteamDB (if possible) to avoid similar problem in future. I wish I could gift Withcer 1 to winner tonight but I hope that you will not be angered becuase of mistake when I created second giveaway for Witcher 1.

You might add this guideline if user select gift when create giveaway.

  • Open game's Store page in browser
  • Right click on "Add to cart" button and click on Copy Link Location
  • Paste it somewhere
  • You should get something like "javascript:addToCart(994);"
  • Notice number in brackets.
  • Add that number to https://steamdb.info/sub/
  • You should have "https://steamdb.info/sub/994"
  • Visit it and go to Information pane
  • Check if package has regional restrictions and if it have select proper countries down below
