Not that i was away, i just sorta fell off the wagon, and someone said in a thread i made a few weeks ago, 1 drink doesn't stay with 1 and he was right.
It felt like a nice ending at new years with 2 glasses of cognac from a leftover bottle i found from my deceased dad, which i also felt ruined.
But this time i felt really sick for days and not even so much a gigantic hangover but guilt, depression, enough to make me really quit for good this time, maybe it's better to have a bad taste from it so you won't always have that nagging feeling of a good one.
I just think all the stress got to me.

So yeah i am back a bit since yesterday as in feeling "normal" again, went do shopping getting some bread spread, wastebags, spices, things for my new place (already got a stash of lemonade and toilet paper) so that the movers can bring it with them which saves me some trips on the bike.
Next thursday the moving is gonna start, hope i won't be too long without internet and then some of the stress settling down.

Quitting something like that is not easy, especially on the first try (or second, or third). I finally quit smoking for good after several failed attempts. Hang in there, and try not to be too hard on yourself. :)

Actually i got it relatively easily not having a habit forming, i have been sober 2 times cold turkey 1 year, it's just when i drink then i don't know my limits (but i drink a lot even if it's just tea or water).
Well if not me your liver and body will be hard on yourself. :p

Hope you can stay quit smoking for good.

Then you are on the good way. ;)

Did you had your lungs checked? My dad smoked for years and once he did a check and his lungs were like he never smoked the doctors said.

Glad to hear you're better. I hope you can fully get out of this state. I personally could not overcome such a condition without the help of professionals and drugs ... So keep in mind: seeking help is normal and there is nothing shameful about it. Well, modern medicine works wonders.

PS: Also you might want get tested for vitamins. As it turned out, I was severely deficient in vitamin D, and this also prevented me from recovering and feeling better.

Thank you, i have been 2 times 1 year without, i have the luck i can easily quit (just when i drink, i don't know where to stop, but i drink a lot of anything (be it tea, coffee, water, soda).

I am taking a vitamin A-Z pill each day but recently one time it did show some vitamin D deffiency in my blood, they never said it to me again, so i don't know.

I hope you can find the strength to also mantain staying off it.

It's funny how something that is soo ''good'' for you in the beginning can become so sour in the end, with no real way back to the state of the beginning again...
Kepp up the good work, L!

too much of anything can be a bad thing, there's always a limit. moderation is always key, or just flat out abstinence in some.

At first there were studies that well 1-2 drinks could actually be good for your heart and health, and offcourse many will relax from it (in the end i never got tipsy, let alone drunk anymore). I could still be in the top 3 on TF2.
But a few weeks ago i read how those studies changed and new ones would say even a few is bad and that a few would be similar to smoking a bunch of cigarettes per week and like take days of your life.
But i also think the older you get, the less you get to recover so easily from things then when you are like 20.

But you never know how it goes with studies, who did they use to test, who did it, and first they say this, then they say that.

Thank you.

Many people have problems with that as it's somewhat normalized in our society (depending on the circles you move on and your compulsive nature, ofc) but what I've read sounds really positive.
So double thumbs up.

Yeah lower class seems to be the beer type, but "higher" class or educated people tend to drink their wine or brandy, but many also will drink a bottle of wine a day and find that normal, my parents did too for years, until my dad got a heart thing.
I still think in essence it's just as any poisonous as any hard drugs, but governments get major taxes from it (same as smoking) or got some big lobby behind it to do anything real about it.
Although they tried to ban liquor in America but then you just got bootleg stuff, people will just make their own, you can't even stop it anymore, that ghost is out the bottle.

My parents both drinked and smoked, 1 sister drinked and smoked, i just drinked, and 1 sister never did either. :p

Thanks.

It's sometimes very hard, especially in this day and age with how it's going in the world (and my own life) i gotta keep the faith that this move is a transition, a means to more and not just a final destination.

Thanks.

Many suffer and struggle with one failing (fault, weakness, addiction) or another. No life is perfect. Not one. The important thing, as you have done, is that each time I, you, they, we fail... get back up and try again! Welcome back, my friend!

Very true, and no life is perfect but i really would want a long (healthy) life, and offcourse those particular ways are not the way to go for that. But i am standing up and trying again, day 5 of being sober again already. :)
From mistakes we can learn.

Thanks.

You mean the green thing? I don't ever want to take up smoking too, i did try gummies though, i don't know really how i feel about them, i asked them to be made sugar free and the second bag was different but that made me trip twice (which i just wanted to escape so i went to bed at 19:00), so not sure if i were received others or something instead of thinking they just made them sugar free, i cut them in half and that goes okay, but now i take like 1 half every 2 weeks, i am not sure even sure if i'd throw the remaining bags away.

Anyway, i just wished i could get something proper from a doctor, i think clonazepam might work for me, but they are very hesistant to prescribe that, even more so then diazepam/temazepam (and that's already a pain to get).

Well it's way way better then feeling sick and crap, offcourse you want that over as quickly as possible. ;) I also guess just the older you get the longer it takes.

Thank you, really hope so too, maybe a nice relationship too would be nice, may 2023 be good for you too.

i'm really sorry to hear that. it isn't easy and i wish you the best in your recovery and your ability to thrive afterwards. dont think of it as falling off the wagon that you need to get back on. youre on a new wagon now, a better one. it has sick rims and leather seats but it can be improved. you can supe it up in whatever ways you wish and youre back to a blank slate so put some nice paint on this wagon this time! (metaphorically think of this as a growth opportunity!)
