Would you consider picking this up at such a huge discount?

Heck yeah!! 80% is awesome
80% of what? There isn't much game in here to begin with

Mafia III is bad. Really bad. SOOOOO bad actually.

Not even worth 1 buck I think.

Lol, that's....pretty bad.
GTA V is also 80% off at $12 for the Premium Online Edition. Would be a No-brainer for me if it was a Steam key.

I almost considered GTA V and then I read DRM social club. If it's not a steam key, I can't be bothered. Never even heard of social club. Sounds like a porn website. Easy pass at that price.

Edit: Must've triggered someone pretty bad since I earned a blacklist from this. Yay.

Rockstar games on Steam still have Social Club.

All of them? Including GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas? I have all of them anyways on steam, just not this one for my own reasons. Figured with all the RP hype going on atm I might as well pick it up but it would have to be damn cheap and on steam or I wouldn't waste my time. Them opening another launcher afterwards is not that big of a concern as long as the main key is on steam.

Yes and GTA IV is even broken because of these Social Club issues.

Dang that's unfortunate, thanks for letting me know. I suppose it's nice that I have them in physical editions but that wont work with the newest ones since they want you to activate them on platforms now so it makes owning physical copies useless where as you said they could be broken.

The oldest games are pre-Social Club DRM.

I did play GTA IV, but didn't check the multiplayer.
I don't remember having to interact with social club at all. But I had to login Windows Live (Xbox{Microsoft Account}).

Haven't played the DLCs, but never had any issues with Social Club on GTA IV. Both Single and multiplayer worked fine for me.

I mean it's not great, but damn after the first 5 hours, maybe 8 if you pushing it, it becomes painfully tedious.
For 1 buck though, it's a steal if you use the "1 buck = at least 1 hour worth of game" logic. I got 50 (extremely tedious) hours from it.

What's so painfully tedious about it? I would love to know why you guys don't like it.
[I had considered playing it]

Personally I enjoyed it, I didn't find it tedious rather it was very repetitive. After about 6 hours the missions become the same.
-> Drive Somewhere -> Kill people -> Drive back

The game does have some redeeming qualities to it, driving is very good in the game, gun play is pretty good too but not enough variance to keep on playing after finishing the main story. Also it has some great music. I got it in a bundle so I'm not sure if I would pay $12 for it.

Yeah, I already own it. If it's anything like Mad Max, which was a little tedious to get all collectibles, but was fun driving, then it might be ok for me.

Mad Max was tedious, but idk I found the world and just overall gameplay to be better refined to the point where it didn't feel overly tedious. In Mafia 3, the opening hours show promise, but as soon as it comes to the core game itself, it devolves to "Go here, kill or interrogate, repeat", the animations are always the same which make it much worse.

The game is also unneccasarily long, unlike Mad Max which is mostly full of optional stuff to make it tedious, you MUST do the tedious stuff in Mafia 3 to continue. It's about 2 hours of interrogating or destroying stuff to get closer to a sub boss in an area (which there are 2 of in all 9 areas, so that's about 4 hours of that per area, and 36 hours overall). And then you have the main boss to take down after that in each 9 areas. It took me about 50 hours to finish, but most probably take about 40.

I think what made it worse for me was I played it at launch, so I paid near full price for it, and it was really broken with textures being bugged out. It also sucked as a game that followed Mafia 2, especially as the customisation in Mafia 3 is near none existent, though they did add car customisation I think, but idk what that's like, but again that still pales compared to Mafia 2.

Alright, thanks for the insight :) I'll still probably give it a shot anyway at some stage, but at least I know what I'm in for :)

If only they would properly discount the Season Pass, since most collectors already have the base version from HB. Not touching that game unless I have the full version with all its damned DLCs.

Season Pass is on my wishlist... but I will never get that if they keep try to milk the DLC's that way.
