Steam Group Only Giveaway - Question

Is it ok to create a "Steam Group" only giveaway for one of my Steam groups, then post here on the forums telling people about the giveaway so that they join the group? Or would that be considered some sort of spam? thanks

I've seen a lot of group giveaway threads with some group advertisements. So if they weren't all against the rules, I think its okay.
Though I am new here means I can't be 100% trusted with knowledge about rules.

Make a thread advertising your group rather than the giveaway associated with your group.
