I have this in my library, and somehow it caught my eye. I tried it but the combat was so annoying. Do you know if the story worth finishing?

It's been a long time since I played this one and I enjoyed the gameplay, but I can't remember anything about the story...so I'm not sure if it is good, sry :/

Also, here is the link to the game for the people wondering:

I don't remember all that much about it but I don't recall the story being all that great, think it was kinda vague and forgettable.

I really liked Betrayer. I love the black and white aesthetics, the sound design is superb and I actually thought the story was pretty cool, if you take the time to read all the notes and do some side missions for extra lore and character background. One thing I'd point out is that the game world can be pretty tricky to navigate and knowing where to go next might end up becoming annoying if you don't pick up on the different sound cues guiding your way.

I liked Betrayer but for me it was better when I used the color mode to see everything in color and black and white only when I'm in the "other world".

I also liked the combat so maybe I'm strange.

Story is good but you need to find all the collectibles to understand everything but the ending points out that maybe in the future there will be Betrayer 2?

Hmm, so there isn't a satisfying ending? I hate endings like "To be continued..."

It was a good ending in my opinion but it left me thinking that maybe there will be Betrayer 2. The ending is so strange it made people create a lot of discussions about it :)

I have for so long on my library and some days ago i installed looking to unlocked some achivments XD (i get a TPB copy back when the game was launched and i looks insteresting but never play more than an hour or less), as other says above you need to gather all the collectibles to figured out what happen, that mean you have to do lot of exploration/walking. The B&W looks cool but it can be boring after some time, you can opt for color mode (exit to main menu is needed) and left the B&W for the "other world".

I'd recommend even though the game lacks polish. Switching between color and B&W mode depending on the locations is preferred. I really enjoyed the combat mechanics as well, it is very punishing and forces you to strategize before every enemy encounter. Although, the game really felt poorly balanced in many instances, as it was either too easy or too hard. The story was actually pretty entertaining too, if a bit depressing sometimes. And you'll probably end up having to look at a game guide because you won't have any idea where to go next.

Didn't really like it, mostly because the performance was unforgivably poor even when the settings were turned down to their lowest and the game looked like a smudge of dirt (on AMD card, not sure if Nvidia may be better - more recent cards may handle it better as well) which also made combat really annoying.

From what I've played though, the setting and visuals were interesting, but not that exciting. I don't recall the story much, it didn't seem to make much sense and didn't explain the "what, where, and why" (which I assume was going to be elaborated upon later in the game, but I wasn't hooked enough to bother continuing playing). I say if you already own it or like how it looks and you feel you'd enjoy it, go for it. Else I'd wait for a sale or skip it entirely.
