RIP Dolores O'Riordan, such a great singer of a great band, The Cranberries.
I saw them live at Rock Werchter.

I heard it a few minutes ago. So sad. ;_; Why the heck would the Grim Reaper take her so early? :'( She was so talented! I loved her songs!

She was so awesome. I hope that she didn't kill herself - the fact that she died, won't change though. :'(

Personally I have no clue who she was. But seeing all these people being sad about this shows that she was a great and influential person.
Thank you for helping others, Dolores. If there's anything after death, I hope it's a perfect scenario for you.
My condolences to her friends and family as well.

It's a generation thing, she had some hits mainly in the nineties, so most younger then <25 probably don't know her.
I think music companies and media rather advertise their Beyonce's, Lady GaGa's, then a bit older singers like her.
She been on the Irish version of The Voice, but offcourse not alot probably that would have watched that either.
I posted these kind of things in the past before with certain artists, and it's always a question should you post, or not, like artists that die of old age, then you see it coming, but when artists die so young, it's a bit tragic, shocking and unexpected.
Her voice was beautiful and unique (But many Irish seem to have a talent for music).
Zombie for example was a protest song written during the Cranberries' English Tour in 1993, in memory of two boys, Jonathan Ball and Tim Parry, who were killed in the IRA bombing in Warrington earlier that year.

I grew up listening to their earlier songs and Linger has always been a part of my playlist. 46 is too young. My condolences to her loved ones.

"The Cranberries singer Dolores O'Riordan has died suddenly at a hotel aged 46, her publicist has confirmed.
The rock star, who has recently been performing with a band called D.A.R.K, was staying in London while recording.
Her publicist did not release any details concerning the cause of her death, other than it say it was 'sudden' and that her family are 'devastated'.
A statement from her publicist said: 'Irish and international singer Dolores O'Riordan has died suddenly in London today. She was 46 years old.
'The lead singer with the Irish band The Cranberries was in London for a short recording session. No further details are available at this time.
'Family members are devastated to hear the breaking news and have requested privacy at this very difficult time.'
O'Riordan last posted a picture of herself with her cat on Twitter on January 4 with the caption: 'Bye bye Gio. We're off to Ireland.'
Her band had recently playing South America, and she tweeted pictures of fans in Lima, Peru in December.
She found fame in the 1990s when her band shot to fame with hits including Zombie and Linger."
