Yes, after you get the DRM version, you will have a oupon available in your account to buy it for 1$.

You might want to add that info on the thread as well as changing the title since it gives you the option to get a Steam key for $1. It also lets you use Humble wallet credits to pay for the $1 key which works out well for those that have unused wallet funds from referrals.

I added it to the thread but i will add it to the title too, thanks!

The "Free Game" $1 key also drops cards so it'll be attractive to the card fanatics. This isn't one of those "free but no cards sub".

Fun game
until you reach the end and you will get nothing, no outro, no rewards, no congratulations, literally nothing. What were the devs thinking?

I didn't try it yet but this is weird.

How long did it take for you to beat the game?

Maybe this will be how Humble gives out games from now on to counter hoarders but hopefully not always, $1 for 1 game is much more than their tier 1 bundle ~3 games for $1.

I don't really see it as a good strategy if the game is not really strong enough.

What strategy? If one person buys a Steam key they already get more money from it than if they just hand out free keys to the armies of secondary accounts / bots.
And having account-bound DRM-free game is the best they can do, unlike the Outcast promo, where you could only download it for a while, but they removed the download link later.

Terribly unfinished game with no exploration.

The concept was sound - find stuff in the middle of the road throughout your journey, sell and fund your necessities with your uncle narrating and fleshing out the world and times.

But nearly everything was terribly executed because it felt unfinished. I don't see the point of playing if you don't bring the uncle - you travel and see a (visually crappy) lighthouse, nothing happens, no narration, interaction or even lootables. But do expect to find another lighthouse (that looks exactly the same) a little further down the road.

Apply the above to everything else you encounter in the game - abandoned vehicle shop, beach, railroad with abandoned trains. There is nothing happening or going on.

It puzzles me how the game has that amount of reviews and stayed positive to boot, but to each his own.

On the other hand, no harm satisfying that itch of curiosity for 1 dollar. I'd recommend against supporting irresponsible developers that don't finish their products and sell it as complete, but I have a copy myself from humble, otherwise i'd have refunded :p

Well this will stop me from trying the game, you can try the DRM version for free without paying the 1$ tho,

It's a giveaway on humble now :D you HAVE to try it ^^ I did have fun in the beginning, to get out of the car you have to pull on the breaks, your dear companion (the car) gets dirty with mud as you travel off-road and overtime, then you have to scrub it with soap and water...the simulation was interesting albeit rough visually.

I just don't like the fact the dev considered it "finished", but do judge for yourself if you have the time.

An absolute steal. It's such a unique game if you can get past the bugs.

Isn't that what the Bethesda fanboys say?

I don't think anyone would claim a Bethesda game to be "Unique" in the gameplay department.

True. I guess it was more a comment on the "if you can get past the bugs" part.

Jalopy... or [insert Bethesda game}?

I don't hate Bethesda games (I haven't played many though)

Can a DRM-free giveaway cause it to be No Value on SteamGifts?

Oh thanks but I was not referring to the region "SG" - I was asking if Steam Gifts considers a game to be "No Value" if a giveaway is done via DRM-free like Jalopy here, or if the giveaway has to be in the form of Steam games/keys.

Well, the game is DRM-FREE but you can use coupon to buying 1$ , and you can create jalopy via Steamgifts
Sadly is no contributor values :(

As far as I know it won't, as people need to gift steam copies here.

Thanks. The game name reminds me of a Filipino fast-food chain called "Jollibee" -- along with the McDonald's influenced menu; they also sell Tuna pies, Salisbury steaks, and Spaghetti !

Most foreigners can't stomach the last few items above, but you gotta try the YUM burger, it has a sweet "ketchup & mayo" sauce (a lot of sugar in the sauce)
