Yes, packages including DLCs could appear in recommended, as well as games acquired since the last sync. It's most likely what is happening here.

Yeah I think its just the whole DLC issue in general. Its not a big deal at all. I use that recommended section as a secondary source from the wishlist section so its no skin off my back! All games are easily hidden anyway, no need for change :)

It's the truth. For example, I own The Flame in the Flood, but I can see it in my recommended tab.

I see them in your game list so it's correctly synced. You can't enter these giveaways, right ?

So it's not just recommended. Just to be sure, you have the setting to hide owned games enabled, right : https://www.steamgifts.com/account/settings/giveaways

Seems like it could really be a bug but I'd try with userscripts turned off just in case

Every option in there is set to no in default for people to be able to see every giveaway in first place taking into consideration that people shouldn't be able to enter the giveaways of the games they own, so I don't see any problem. (But there are bugs, yes.)

The thing is, how didn't you notice this problem until now?

Then why do you see being able to see the games you own as a problem? Isn't that what you want?

'Recommended' implies 'recommended for you to enter' and hence some degree of additional curation over the 'All' list. It doesn't make any sense to include items that one cannot enter for when you are recommending things for someone to enter, regardless of other options.

Oh, yes. I was thinking in general. Like it also hides the other games even you don't hide them, it should do that too.

Wow, that was a serious waste of my time.
Recommended shows games that are highly ranked in the community wishlist, obviously some of these that you own will appear if you choose not to hide owned games.

Don't feel too bad, your explanation has helped at least one person, I now know how the recommended list works (derived from community wishlist), thank you!

Not sure about This War of Mine, but Definitive/Special/GOTY editions of games always have that issue where they aren't being detected as an owned game on SG. As for TWoM, no idea why that is. Have you bought the game in the last sale? If so, have you synced since?

It's the same for games you are able to enter anyway even if you own them. You can simply hide them when you encounter.

Not a big deal.

Okay, looks like it is.

No, it isn't. D:.

undesired =/= broken either. at least just make the suggestion what it is and retype it rather then typing it in the laziest possible gorilla speak terms.

me upset, me wants fixed.

or..

hey, i'd really love the option to be able to additionally disable this function from this area.

which do you think might actually stand a chance at being fixed?
