So I was just listening to an R/ story on youtube.

One of the stories made me remember something I used to randomly do in an online game.

In the original Guild Wars I'd go to a random staging area, such as Lions Arch, and spam in chat that I wanted to sell used Z-Keys and broken lockpicks just for fun. Can't remember if I had any takers but it did get a laugh.

Tera I'd take my flying bike mount to the highest altitude in the main town and dismount. When I was dead, someone would res me and I'd repeat the process. I was bored that day.

So, what kind of random things have you done in any kind of online game because you wanted to have fun or were just plain bored?

In Starcraft (one of my favorite games):
-Immediately as the game started I would attack my Command Center with SCV's and destroy it.
-I would only make SCV's and a second Command Center and kill the enemy with the SCV's.
-In the chatroom I would talk for a long time knowing everyone had blocked me.

I also played Guild Wars (one of my favorite games) but I can't remember doing anything special.

In Runes of Magic with a lot of effort I was able to post a level 1 quite unique trader in the Elf starting area. Quite unique, because he was a Dwarf, and Elf starting area has been believed to be accessible only to Elves... matter of fact a Grumpy Old Dwarf believing himself to be an Elf, and picking fights with anyone calling him a Dwarf, which usually took less, than a minute from the time, that I logged him on ;)

So between all the newborn very tall Elves there was this single very short guy, wearing magnificent elven clothes almost never seen in such a low level area (to make him happy, I have even brought him an excessively expensive and distinctively elvish Mythical Elder Elven Robe set or some other costume like this), utterly convinced that he is an Elf, yet still talking in somewhat dwarvish manner, taking a very strong objection to any attempt to call him a Dwarf. Add to this, that though I have used a legit way to teleport him there, even most of high level players did not know, that it was possible to do, and you did need a high level main character to perform the trick.

Since then, when I was bored or simply wanted to RP/troll a bit, it was enough to switch to him, and in a matter of minutes I was embroiled in a heated argument with somebody (with the rest of the local population usually gathered around, quite amused and confused at the same time) in which one of the main branching lines running like this:

"That will be ENOUGH, youngster!... Me being just a bit on a short side is no excuse for such derogatory, unprovoked namecalling. Where are you manners and respect for elders, eh???"

I would sometime try to incite people to « battle » with me in non-pvp zones. I once spent an hour with a random person, the two of us spamming our attacks at each other till we realized how much time had passed.
Oh, those long summer days...

Just remembered one that happened in Lord of the Rings Online.
I had just joined a kin a few days earlier and was already in good social and party graces with them. If you never played the game, it was one of those with in game mail. One member was mail bombing another with flowers. One at a time. So the entire kin, myself included, mail bombed him with taters (potatoes) one at a time for 30 minutes. He stopped. I couldn't play anymore that day as I was laughing so hard,.

forgot to mention sometimes the armor and tools were painted pink.

one tribe member used to go around and spray paint everyone's bases pink.

sometime we would pick up a tamed pig with a argentavis and fly over peoples bases who were online and actively outside and feed the pig a bunch of stim berrys.(if you played ark you know what that did).

when ark first introduced warpaint we would sneak into peoples bases and paint there dino's and them if they logged outside, sometimes just pink, other times we would leave are clan initials.

In RuneScape (back in the day) I'd put on a skeleton suit, fill my inventory with snowballs and a ring that turns you in a easter egg. Then I went to the starting area and stalked random newbs, throwing snowballs at them and quickly turn into an egg. Some tried to pick me up, some starting to run away (thinking they got attacked). And sometimes I starting to run after them and throwing more snowballs. Some eventually realized I was a player, but some logged off after being chased for half a minute.

It's 10+ years since I last played any MMORPGs (dont remember any other online game genre i could've been playing) and most of them even longer ago when I was a kid so I don't remember much, but there are some things that I can recall now.

Talking in chat to NPCs. I mean, they were walking ! All the NPCs I've encountered until then were stationary.
The chat went along the lines of: "Wow you are lvl 50" "Nice gear" "How are you bigger than other players?"

I was a member of a small clan. We didn't have any high levels in the clan and we never won over a territory despite going everyday. Owners got tired of the clan, they kept tossing the ownership around and left, I became the eventual owner that day. We went for a territory war and we won :D

Oh did I mention that I used all spells in MMORPGs by clicking on them with my mouse ??? For years ! :D

When I was like 13 I lied in my "resume" about my age and other stuff, became a GM (gamemod, like an admin but a bit worse) and goofed around with players. Teleporting them around for "trips" together. Playing hide and seek with rewards that I obtained legitimately. Giving them unobtainable gear and getting myself banned forever. The usual.

This is from the top of my head, might remember more later.

I remember on grand fantasia i was bored with a friend and at a moment of random roaming he find himself on a balcony, i was on ground level so i started doing the Romeo and Juliet dialog, then he continued, and we just did the scene with random people that were stopping by to look what was happening then cheering us lol

Also in my first mmo wich was called tales of pirates, we had fun with my guildmates flooding the trade channel with stuff like "Buy Coca 5L with Royal pizza Pm me" That was dumb... but we were dumb

Only online game that I played when I was younger was some of the call of duty games.. mostly COD 4 and MW2
And I remember that we would spend hours in a server trying to find glitches in maps so we could get out of the map limits or get into houses that where not available

Damn, now I want to play COD 4 all over again
