I rarely miss the free app on Amazon but all I get today is a broken link saying something about "The Amazon Underground"? So do they even have a free app on offer at the moment? Abs what does that Underground thing even mean?

I check every day and there wasn't one today.

Not entirely sure what the Underground thing is ... looks like an app for non Amazon device users to have access to amazon's free apps section? I'd like some clarity on that as well if someone knows.

It's crazy, but right now the app doesn't work for Kindle devices. Why they wouldn't make their own app compatible with their own devices is beyond me. If I didn't already have more games than I'll likely ever play I would be angry, but it doesn't matter much to me since I already have more than enough games to play :)

The App of the Day is dead, The Underground now lives.

It looks like it's their way of dragging more people to shop at Amazon.

Like you, I already have far more games than I could play in a lifetime, so it's of little concern to me. I just hope they're still going to have those big bunches of freebies on holidays. I've picked up a few gems during those.

The Underground App has some serious permission issues. I'm not upgrading. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they've merged the Amazon shopping app and the Amazon App Store app into one... the Amazon Underground. Bad, BAD move.

Tried the Underground app... it takes up 3 times the disk space as the old appstore app. The selection of games they offer for free are pretty much just either A. games that are already free but now offer free in-app purchases or B. paid games that have been FAOTD many times over.

I'm stuck with just 1 gig of usable space on my phone, so I deleted it and went back to the appstore app. Now I just have to deal with the issue I've been having for the past 3-4 months: when I download something it stays in the appstore's data after I install it and the only way to get that memory back is to delete the data for the appstore and re-log in. Wish they just kept keeping the .apk in the veniza file like they used it because that at least meant I could delete it after I installed it manually without having to log in over and over again (each log in counting as a newly registered device) and also I could move the .apk to my SD card to install it that way.
