Do you prefer playing single player or multiplayer games?
From "free" stuff on steam, I can say I enjoyed/still enjoy Warframe and RIFT (even if I prefer single palyer).

Surely thats not that bad to leave a game. Tolerate them man, they will be gone after a match. Or play a other game while you recover. Just dont give up on em man.

Yeah I did used to really enjoy MP games, but it's been a while since I found one worth playing. Maybe I just need to find the right one to get back into it. One that doesn't attract 12 year olds who either think they are god or think you're hacking if you're doing better than them. In the meanwhile I don't feel any great loss for not playing them.

You should try then Red Orchestra 2/Rising Storm or Rising Storm 2. I remember that these two games have very adult and friendly community.

Eh. closest thing I can think of right now is Blood and Bacon. But that's not free, just dirt cheap.
I've also heard good things about Paladins and Smite, but never got around to actually playing them. So I can't really give a first-hand opinion on those.

I have a turkey version avaivable of Warface on steam and it didnt work... heard you gotta play it outside steam but i have no idea how or the will to figure it out...also i gave up on Crossout after the constant crashes and slow grind to actualy get to making something your own truly.

I liked Awesomenauts a lot, may be worth trying if you like games from the moba genre.

Hm, No More Room in Hell is an okay game if you like Mission based Zombie Survival games. I think I still have it installed so I could give you a bit of hand with it (as long you don't want to play some stupid shit Unlimited Ammo server .....)
Other than that maybe Puzzle Pirates? Although it is technically a MMORPG.

Urban Terror isn't on steam but its a freeware FPS game that doesn't necessarily require an account however you might need to register an account to join some servers.

Dirty Bomb was reasonably fun.
TF2 is an oldie but a goldie too.
If you like RTS, Age of Empires Online now has a private server that will let you play for free. Personally I would recommend this the most as it's an awesome game, but only if you like RTS.

CNCnet is better than piece of shit openra because they are classics but openra has changed balance of everything, design, everything, so horribly. Only one good thing is about openra, more people, easier to get into games.

I have a list of great multiplayer games, but not the budget. Now I'm looking for some suggestions for free online multiplayer games that are on steam. The genre doesn't matter, although I'd prefer no mmorpg suggestions since I have another list for that. Also doesn't matter if they are big or small, as long as they are fun :)
I checked the search bar and found a few threads like this but none asking for free game suggestions.
