This year we don't have spring sale? Or I completely missed it? XD

I saw spring VR sale, didn't know if it was that or what.

Sometimes Steam has Chinese New Year's sale. Close to as the summer and winter sales in significance.

Steam has smaller sales for what concerns mainly holidays, being them Western or not, but Jinnai is right - there is no Spring Sale.

I elaborated on that a couple years back: https://www.steamgifts.com/go/comment/43e7O7G
They've pretty steadily stuck to their four sale + themed weekend sales approach since then; The fourth notable/reliable sale is Halloween, not Spring, which is a bit harder to intuitively remember [and it has traditionally been a weekend sale in duration, itself- historically, the only especially lengthy sales are Summer and Winter, though Autumn has been catching up to them as the years go on, and last year's Halloween sale was comparable].
There've been a couple Lunar Sales in February [back in 2016 and the start of this year] comparable in length to the yearly Autumn Sale or lengthier 2017 Halloween Sale in duration, but they're still unreliable additions [and, unlike the Autumn/Exploration sale, have never been labeled as a 'Spring Sale'].
Edit: I've updated the chart with the past two years of sales dates.

I'm totally going to be ignoring those for PSN sales, I just know it. Dang PS4, always demanding I get more games.

Yup, around the same date as every Steam summer sale ;)

So very true....
2015 was also the last Summer Sale before prices on most games, even 10 year old ones, went up by an additional 50-100% for Europe. At which point you could tell the sale started going downhill, along with the enthusiasm of customers. Fanatical, Gamesplanet and Voidu have better deals on an average tuesday than Steam does in the Summer Sale.
What's the point of buying it on Steam if the game is 30% cheaper from a licensed reseller that isn't abusing the VAT law for profit? (21% VAT does not justify a 50% price increase, Valve.)

And I'm pretty sure it's rigged.
The net was full of people complaining they're getting dozens of all except one card. Everyone I've spoken to has experienced the same thing. Myself included. People in gaming groups I'm in got over 100 cards in the last sale(tasks and purchases), and not a single drop of that one card. (it's a different card for different people.)
Statistically it doesn't fit. 160 cards dropped, 12 cards to collect, and all 160 dropped in 11 cards, not a single of the 12th type? That's suspicious at best if it happened for one person. But it happened to thousands of people.
Obviously Steam is pushing people to buy/trade the cards on the market place.

The card system as a whole is rigged, don't think i have had a single game drop all unique cards, i have had at least one duplicate drop for every game i own and in some cases i have had multiple duplicates.

+1 Pretty much the only thing to care about, considering official re-sellers have better, more convenient deals than Steam most of the time.

I didn't really get into Steam until early 2016 (had my account for much longer but never used it), so the old sales of legend aren't something I got to experience. So, its hard for me to be excited seeing as I've never seen what I'd consider a really good large scale steam sale.
Best of luck for those of you who do anticipate them though :)

You are right, in few years I have bought almost nothing, because the prices are way higher, than other legal gaming sites. I like trading cards, but I'm sure they are to blame. If I would buy something, then only Ubisoft games, because you can't buy Steam keys for them.

Bring them on, both the Steam sales and the Summer. ^^

R-right guys? Guys?
Sorry, did you say something? I was googling to see what GOG'd be doing this summer.
Do you think they'll start it up at the start of June, like other years? That's just around the corner!
..oh, right, you were saying something of your own, yeah? Please, contin- oh crap, Unreal is free on GOG, almost missed that.
Right, right, you were saying? Some kind of alternate sales event? You mean, on Humble, right?

the time of the summer sale was leaked already months ago, nothing new. not exiting, last good summer sale was at 2015, nowadays never buying anything on steam as way too expensive. Physical copies cheaper than digitial ones on new releases (even if only steam key in it, but at least that include some goodies for less price!). Sales are better elsewhere.

Hm -_- I am not very motivated to re-install the first game I added to my account. Hopefully not all tasks are necessary. Don't follow a curator as well. But this one is to promote the system so it is unlikely that you can ignore it. Probably have to skip on the badge. If it starts only next week I can't participate anyway as I am on a buisness trip. Unless it begins on Monday or Tuesday which would be unusual.

Not really a fan of playing too many games at once, I try to limit it to 3 so I hope I can find some games that will fit multiple categories.
