Splinet Cell Double Agent on Windows 7

Every time I finish a training mission it says "blah blah blah, the exe, has stopped working". I've been looking around the web and found no working solutions. I've changed the compatibility to Windows XP, I've played the game on highest and lowest graphics settings, I've installed a 1.02 patch and still nothing. There are also other times when this error comes up and I don't want to start a game hoping it will be allright until the end because it definitely won't. Do you know the solution? Maybe one of you had the same problem?

I'd really like to play this game cause I've already beaten the first three and this one's next. I don't like omitting any games in a series I like.

It's just how Double Agent is. It's a buggy port. You could try the 1.02a patch, but all it does is remove SecuROM. Besides, if you have the Steam version it should already have all the patches.

I tried this patch and it didn't help.

I understand "buggy" and can accept that. But I can't even proceed to the next level.

Ok so it's an outright CRAP port, I think this was a common problem even after the patches. And just to be sure, you know that 1.02 and 1.02a are different patches right?

Damn...

I can only hope it'll come out on GOG one day and they have their games compatible with Windows 7 so then it may be working fine. Maybe.

Or I'll try it out on my other PC where I have Windows XP installed. But I prefer playing on this one ;/

Double Agent PC port just sucks like that. I spent more time fixing it than playing.

If you mean if I finished the game, then yes. I had a long series of problems ranging from distorted graphics, no sound, save problems and crashes. Check if there's a way to turn off auto-save, that might be a problem for you as well.
