So maybe Microsoft didn't catch the memo that Mountain Dew & Doritos are kind of a joke with gamers right now.

Seems they've teamed up to hype up the new XBone.

Clicky.

They did when the 360 launched! I won a 360 back when that was going on.

Didn't they team up with them a long time ago, and that's where the joke came from?

I thought it was a Halo thing, but I guess Halo pretty much = Xbox :P

Sorta.
It was just a Halo marketing thing.

Yeah, they've actually teamed up several times for Halo, and possibly for XBox in general once.

So, I never heard of that Geoff Keighley Dorito story. And after seeing this picture I thought it was a parody or something, because it looked so ridiculous. Boy, was I wrong.

This isn't the first time that those three have formed an unholy trinity.

Perhaps this is one of those "well... we can't actually get worse than where we're already at..." types of marketing.

All these threads feel like "we can't believe Microsoft is doing with the Xbox One what it did with the Xbox 360 launch. How stupid can you get? That's never going to work!"

True, but after the whole Keighley/Doritoes/Dew thing you'd think they would maybe look for some different tie-ins.

Just seems like such a joke at this point to tie anything game related to those brands.

What 3 brands would be good according to you, then, out of curiosity?

Doesn't really matter; Coke and Cheetoes, I don't care. It's just at this point when I head the Dew/Doritos combo all I think about is the jokes.

I think those brands needed a bit of a promotional/gaming tie-in cooldown.

To most internet people, at least the vocal part, CoD is also a joke. A multimillion dollar joke.

The vocal part is always the minority. :/

Because majority are too afraid to voice their opinion, or it is not worth hearing.

Would be cool to find an Xbox 1 in a dorito package,60% of the package is air anyway.

Don't they always team up with Mountain Dew and Doritos?

To be fair, that Dorito X bag looks totally badass. Far better than their normal ones >_> And, yeah, they always had partnership.

Gotta agree, tho the Mountain Dew can looks as one of the best designs for a can I've seen...better than that Volcano Burn energy one. (No MD/Doritos where I live)
