So current job goes a bit so-so with it's ups and downs, i was debating if i should go try for this pc job i found, refurbishing computers (with it's own positive and negative sides) i had high hopes i would atleast get an interview but the job was already taken, and looked at other companies but they have a maximum age of 35..

This tuesday i will have a talk with the chef and HR about my experiences with them for the last months but also possibly on how i see my future there, now i found out they had another opening there for running their inventory and they were seeking someone with knowledge of computers...which i have, so i will take that into my talk. But he hinted also at some negative comments from others so not looking forward to it.

But health wise i am often tired (which isn't helping my job), will have my results in of my heart mri next week, which i am kinda nervous about, i definitely need a new matress as my current one is just old and ruining my shoulders (and still need a new graphic card and what not that i can't even begin to start saving). So yeah life.

I was going from Germany's point of view here. If you apply for a job and they do not offer you the job based on your age (or if you suspect this is the reason), you can sue them, either for the job or a compensation and there are cases of this quite often here. You will not get US sums, but at least something. Although there are exceptions, cases where using a max/min age is allowed.

Quick search only provided German sources:
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allgemeines_Gleichbehandlungsgesetz#Internationaler_Vergleich

Reading the wiki article it seems that european anti-discrimination laws are planed to be even stricter, but DE and CZ are blocking development :/

Well could be a full time job itself, sueing companies that have maximum ages. :p

But with my health i just don't have the energy for it nor the time, i was in a mass lawsuit against some bank (Dexia) that promised all sorts of things and lied about it, took years and was promised i would get some of my money back, in the end i had to settle or even risk having to pay, i settled.

It's not that easy to sue a company for this. Even the worst HR person has learned by now that you don't have to give a reason to turn down an application. You would need strong evidence either in written form or testimony by a witness to even get a foot in the door, because it is up to you to prove discrimination. If you can get that, by all means go for it, because these cases can be very expensive for companies.

Hope it turns out alright for you! :)

Possibly it is similar to what happens in Spain. Entrepreneurs only offer contracts to under 30s under the modality of "training contract". Great tax benefits, low wages and workers willing to accept everything the employer demands. And still, youth unemployment is on the rise...

Before losing the job was actually an opportunity. Today a sentence.

Lugum, my best wishes...

Yeah they increase pension age, hard for older people (which you already are apparently at 35+) while youngsters are wanting to work too.
In this day and age without proper papers and experience you should be blessed to already have a job.

same here (italy). plus, if you happen to hit the 30s without a specialization of any kind you are casted out from the labour market. if you come from a middle-class family things can be solve, somehow; if you dont, you are chained to a life with no working perspective for the future. the people i know in this situation barely leave their homes, even to convince them to take a walk outside or go around is a struggle sometimes... they abandoned themself to a life of aphaty and carelessness, to the point they even stop trying to improve their condition. their lifes is literally slipping through their fingers...

Why dont you start looking for jobs out of your country? You may find something that offers you much more than what your country's jobs does. I know that it can be costly at first but it can be better in the long run.

Yeah i also got diabetes type 2 (have to take 1 pill a day) with your heart it's a bad combination, when you're 25 and still feel okay and have nothing and then suddenly you get all sorts of stuff.
Got a female friend also in her thirties and suddenly she's been having pain all day in places, while some smoke and drink (or do drugs) and they grow old without much aches.
We have own risk costing 350 a year (which increases each year) on top of monthly costs, i kinda neglected to get things checked out for 2-3 years (also because back then results were okay) and i felt okay, i am also glad atleast i can afford to get things checked out now.

Want to share what health issues you have? Eitherway hope the best for you too.

I've been lucky about diabetes since both my grandfathers have it, and my maternal grandpa has had it since he was like 30 years old.. I never "studied" that much diabetes since neither me nor my parents have it but yeah I know it was painful for my grandpa and he has always had it! My other grandfather well he's 100 years old and it came out when he was very very old (few years ago, before: zero health problems XD).. all the cures are for free fortunately!!
As I said I know though how can be problematic since my grandpa got it at 30 before I was born (of course xD) so I lived all my life with him day by day with that illness!! :(

You mentioned anyways the situation of my still-living paternal grandfather - born in 1920, served in ww2, never went to the hospital except for when he was shot by the Americans in 1943 XD Always drinking Italian wine every day.. well I've been told to completely ban every kind of coffee, smoke (never tried a signle cigarette though) or alcoholic thing since my very first hospitalization 15+ years ago due to psychological issues (major depressive disorder, agoraphobia and social phobia (fortunately these two are gone forever!! along with panic attacks!! at least 15 years of therapy have been useful xD), and other things I've been suffering from like borderline personality disorder and whatever.. it's been 4 or 5 years that I stopped taking psychodrugs and quitted therapy completely, they were only damaging me after all those years).
On the other hand I have had genetic problems for what concerns sinusitis (many surgical operations in general anesthetic), but the more concerning ones are related to my right arm/wrist (3 operations so far, I barely can write and that's the major reason why I play only PC games and don't own consoles since 2002 xD) and to my nerves (my illness is called chronic pelvic pain syndrome and there's no "100%" cure so I keep on going with two different drugs from my neurologist/urologist that help me but so far, no resolutive cure..

Ok I wrote too much XD (luckily my surgical wrist operations were all related to the thumb tendons so that I can write on a keyboard suffering only pain from neck and cervical things xD).. thanks for everything and again good luck from the bottom of my heart, I can 100% relate!! Thanks!

Seems we both got a list of issues :p And even a bit more in common.

You are right such psychodrugs are countereffective in the end, and i had phobias too when i was younger, even so it forced me out of school when i was 15 (i am over it, though i didn't had to encounter schools, i doubt i could still enter one., might be something if i ever get kids (my biggest wish in life) can't avoid it then but i will see then), you battled two issues, i'm sure you can succeed in tackling the other one too eventually.

My mom is claiming her hands hurt because of rheuma (however you spell it in english) i sometimes feel a bit of annoyance in my wrists, i hope that doesn't progress much, when computers are your hobby and it would cause problems.. So i can relate to that too.
I had a job once where someone had wrist issues so he had a special mouse with a piece to rest your wrist on if i got that right, maybe that's something for you?

Thank you for sharing and your honesty, and i wish you good things and luck to come too.

Thanks to you for everything in the first place, I'm always so messy and confused that I always ask myself if I'm writing in a intelligible English or if I'm just relying on what I played in the '90s and talking like the American SNES videogames xD
Yeah we've got something in common, and many issues too.. not that great but we have to deal with that.. it took me years and years to take off the "why me?" question that kept storming in my head - why all these illnesses, why the panic attacks, why always me? Now that I'm an adult fortunately I've got way less problems on the psychological side and I'm in peace with myself, I don't feel anymore "less" than anyone else but of course the illnesses won't go away with just positive thinking xD
We spell it "reuma" in Italian so probably it comes from the same Latin or Greek word, I studied as an accountant before graduating in history and I never studied those languages xD But I know what it means, and well fortunately it's not genetical and my wrist/hand/arm problems have all been caused by myself, playing too much guitars, typing too much, using too much a joystick and overall writing too much, both for myself and for 5 years of university.. so I am really always concerned when I see boys and girls play or use their hands and wrists too much - they're all illnesses that you cause to your tendons and so on by using them too much, so I always try to warn them and I sincerely hope you'll never experience something as I had to - even if we have awesome health care and doctors here, after these surgical operations you will never have again your 100% functioning hand.. I can't play tennis anymore, I barely manage to play guitars and most of all it's quite impossible for me to play consoles - I found (just like the mouse resting tool xD) a XBOX wireless (of course) controller that somehow helps me rest the right hand so I've been using that one and an extremely light one for playing all the Final Fantasy titles on Steam, the Supergiant games, Skyrim and the other big RPGs so far..
Ok, but I don't even have the time to play these months xD
Thanks a lot for what you said concerning my psychological issues!! I managed to fight them all after years of loneliness and pain and if you know what agoraphobia, panic attacks, depression and so on means I don't have to talk about them.. although we all of course experience different things.. it took me so many years, I still am struggling and well I chose as I said to stop taking medicines since I started at 14 years old more or less and I really think they affected in some ways my body so.. I know I've got depression and bpd but I won't keep on taking pills and passing my day in bed, I'm over 30 years old and really I'm fed up with those things..
Your wish is awesome, and I'd really love to have kids too (of course I don't have kids xD).. I'm concerned due to genetical issues mainly - if my kids would have phobias or debilitating illnesses due to my genetical things it would be really difficult ot bear.. but I'd really love to have kids and I hope from the bottom of my heart that you'll get to realize all of your dreams, thanks again and good luck for everything, especially for your health and your work!! Sorry for my mistakes I'm in a rush even today -.- :') See you around here =)

Nothing wrong with your english. :)

It's easy to fall in a victim mode asking "why me", i still fall for it sometimes, a bunch of years ago i learned about an artist called simon turner, which had a woman chanting and reading in a very soothing voice a whole powerful text from i believe it was part of a book, the "songs" are called bliss and almost bliss i think one of them even said something in the lines like why not? meaning what doesn't kill you, does only make you stronger.

Your outburst of despair may have shown that you're not in despair at all.
If you despaired you would be death.
You can't give up. This is no time to play lonely.
If you preserve some feeling for yourselves.
You will see a new foresakeness.
A shimmer of the cause.
Cause.Yes.
The world exists. And no other can replace it.
But stop breaking your hands about being and none being.
Being is, and can be thought about, where as none being is unthinkable.
The most you can do is breathe about it.
Nor is far from here.
Let what is happened between you, be your last conflict.
Let's what just been said,be unsaid.

A producer of light.
Take that image with you for your further journey,it will show you the way.
Don't complain about being alone, be even more alone.
Hardship provides a home.
Back there in the pitch darkness a pond is shimmering.
Back there beyond the tombstones, the pyramids are shimmering.
Just outside a tree wishes by,it is a bass.
Hand down that wishing.
Communicate the horizon.
Use the power of beautiful communication.
Stop the beautiful from having once again become nothing.
Slow down with the help of kindness, and invent.

It was also in a time i used products from this site (which you can just download too) which was soothing and uses a special frequency that "alters the brain", maybe something interesting to use yourself, learn to meditate.
Maybe also just go try a sport if you can, even privately at home working with weights or a treadmill, a strong body also helps a strong mind.

Alot of kids spend whole days on their tablets and telephones so yeah might cause wrist issues, i heard in the news it already starting to create more eye sight problems, and i am sure it just creates a whole lot of other issues too.

Did you play Final Fantasy 15? Someone gave it to me recently, i only grinded for like 5 hours in the base town (with 13 so linear i dunno if i can even travel back) the older ones just forced you to go forward with the story and grind only if really needed, they felt more fun.

If i ever get children i could pass on the same genetic heart thing (and reuma and the diabetes) but i would not prevent myself from that choice, they are things that someone could have a normal life with, usually it's also 50-50% things you know, like they either could take things from the mother or father and skip a generation, and as with you and the phobias, you atleast would have the knowledge knowing how to handle it, guide them.

I tried my best to answer as much as possible, normally not a person of large walls of text. :p and a work day, so tired (my shoulders are also hurting since 2 days, hope that will pass but i am going to get a new matress and hopefully also sleep better).
At work they gonna give me easy chores for the time being (giving me the chance to focus on my health) but i will get chances again and they do want to keep me (although something permanent is still unsure for the time being and will depend if they get enough orders around september) but it's not experience i can easily take elsewhere (and yes my age is also starting to limit me) but for the time being i got some stability.
Maybe if i ever get enough money i would start my own foodtruck, take a laptop with me for the quiet moments, but it also takes some guts to actually do it, would be easier when you have someone to do it with.

Thanks and bliss to both.

Yeah, it took me years to completely let that feeling die, it was always there, for every physical or mental illness I was always asking to myself what I did to deserve everything I have and well, therapy, philosophy and a huge Swedish tattoo (half of my tattoos probably are related to healing and being positive XD) from a song which says (you're Dutch? "er zijn geen antwoorden" should be the literal translation xD) basically that you're only wasting your time searching for answers that don't exist.
My neurological issue (the chronic pelvic pain syndrome) not only doesn't have a full cure, but it's even uncertain on how you can contract it and I still don't know what happened (never had unprotected sex, I've been more and more wary about my health after my 20, 21st birthday but still, catched it!)..

Thanks a lot for letting me know about Simon Turner, he has also Italian pages but I've never heard of him before! It will be surely a great and helpful experience to read and listen something about :)
Thanks again for the lyrics too and I can completely agree on that message, and on getting stronger even in small steps. And you're even more right about any kind of physical activity - I'll try my ankle exercises (which standing to the doctors can be done only through some machines, I really can't translate into English the Italian names since I don't even know its meaning, probably it's always Greek but I didn't found it on Google xD) so that I'll be able to walk again, or hike, I've always loved going for long walks and hikes even outside the cities, here we have so many hills, mountains, rivers, we even have the sea below Venice, the Garda lake, there's so many beaufiul and soothing places.. this year I'm doing and I'll definitely do way more than the last one!

Final Fantasy XV it's a hard theme xD I feel I don't have the time to completely play it and I'm -really- a fan of the series, I've been a fan of it since the '90s where we had to buy American cassettes and adapt them in the SNES, I played all the possible Final Fantasy games I could xD (not into multiplayer though) and well, you can't even imagine how much I loved 13 and (even more) 13-2, so beautiful.. I really can't understand the harsher critics about them, especially about 13.. I really loved it from the beginning to its end.. I made all my paper charts for every single paradigm/roles combination.. now I've got in my library FF Type-0 but I played it only for 5-6 hours and got just the first achievement, I feel like I never have the right time to go through them so I'm still skipping 15 (everyone says it's AWESOME XD) and 12 for PC.. plus I love JRPGs as much as I don't like open world games like Skyrim, we'll see..

Anyways, still no comparisons to the classic SNES/PS ones.. it may be an emotional issue but man, those were really the top of what could have been produced at that time.. love them all, 6 is my favourite but I played tons of times all the other ones, completed them all even here on Steam.. :)
Yes you're absolutely right and I'll keep your words in mind when I'll have the chance to, I really love to have children and everything could even pass a generation, or I could be there to protect them and teach everything that my parents and other ones around me didn't teach at all..

yeah I used to be a wall of text person around 1999-2002 when I used to spend my internet time on music forums and write really lots of things, now I'm not even registered to a single forum anymore and I almost never write so much so don't worry at all you wrote lots of kind words and I really appreciated everything, don't get tired and don't make the mistakes I made with my poor right arm/hand/wrist XD I really hope you'll get all the time and the rest you need to focus on your health, you deserve it and it's fundamental for your future! And well of course I'd love to have the money one day to travel and do my own business, while here I'm always stuck with my shops and such.. it's hard to even take a vacation.. lots of luck and health to both =)

I'm currently unable to work.
In the past when I had jobs I had to take frequent (extremely short) breaks because of the fatigue and sensory overload, but I never found an employer who was understanding; even though I did an excellent job otherwise :/ Since the seizures, my sensory issues have gotten to the point where it can be overwhelming even to go shopping; seizures are under control, but that doesn't seem to make a difference sensory-wise.
Now I still have to find someone who is understanding of the fatigue and sensory issues, but add on top that I'm in my 30s with not much work experience (do to the same issues).
I've heard that there are some companies (like "Specialisterne") which help people with disabilities get jobs and help employers alter the job to fit the employee, but I haven't had much luck finding more info.

I am 37, had some work gaps, i was promised an internship by a company, then they dropped contact, i was promised things by city hall, by a special place that promised to help me find a job, you know what?
In the end i always found jobs myself, and the current one through an ad in the paper, and they also hired people that came from a special workplace, so in short yeah believe that there are companies out there still that would want to give you a chance, and i am sure there must be special companies out there that could maybe help you, but i think we are in different countries, so i can't help you there, but maybe someone else reading can?

There are plenty of job sites, but usually they got plenty of fish in the sea to pick from, you could pick (an Industrial) place and then look at each company site individually in google maps, even if they aren't seeking to hire someone currently you can always try (and they give you a chance later), atleast you will have less people aiming for the same job and it really shows you want to work there.
And i know it can still be depressing after the x th turn down, and sometimes it's just really being lucky in finding that spot and the right time.

I wish you luck and it always sounds easy coming from some someone else, but i can say keep the faith as good things can and will eventually come.

Good luck with your MRI results. Stay strong and remember there are many thing that you can do to strengthen your heart. Ageism is so prevalent in hiring practices now, there's no point in worrying about. But you never know what will turn up. A friend of mine, after struggling to get back into the white collar workplace ended up carrying mail, which he never expected to do and is ten times happier than he ever was working in an office.

Maybe i should eat better but when you work you sometimes also just don't have the energy to make a good meal. :p

My grandfather was actually a postman, he sorted mail, then delivered it now they made it seperate and made the delivery a part time job, you couldn't really live from it anymore being a postman these days.
Offcourse other things might also turn up but at a certain age it just gets harder.

While exercise is probably a good idea so long as your doctor and test results confirm that, I was actually talking about supplements such as CoQ10 - there are others as well.

In the US, the postal service is now privatized and it's probably Amazon that keeps it afloat and very busy. I'm a little surprised that is not the case in your country as well.

I will have to await the mri results (and possible follow up tests) and try to get a new matress if that doesn't all help i can always look better at my food plan.

Thank you, hope things will get better for you too.

Sometimes it takes alot of time (and maybe some things forever) but you just have to keep the faith and stay strong, only way to survive and go through it.

I hope your situation will get better, especially the health, I think it's more important than job.

Yeah there are even people giving up their health for a job, one has to work to live, not live to work.
