BTW, is that your voice for "bean soup" and "hocus pocus"?

Thought freebies would be at least invite-only, oh well - have a bump.

15 days left for you to play and record and post the videos of yourself playing Goblin and Coins. Don't have the will/time to record the entire game? Play only first or first and second world and be invited to car 5 or even 4... (more info in the table in the OP)
Need help with recording? Ask here and someone will help you for sure. Not sure if the prizes are worth it? Check out the train "time-table" for those that are already listed or check the previous event to see what winners got then... Have more questions? Ask! :)

I think this is a cool idea. I'd been wanting to do it, but had been on the fence because I am not very talkative and had never recorded playing before. Last night I couldn't go to sleep, so around 2am I got up and decided to just jump in and do it. I'd never played the game before, but I had a lot of fun playing it and just played through until the end, although I didn't say much.
Then I looked at the video and realized that the game sound wasn't recorded for some reason, lol. The mic is fine, but between my being so quiet and there being no sound, the video is pretty awful. I'm not sure if I'll re-record or just upload the one I made, but I definitely think the video is boring without game sound.
I do think playing it feels a lot like the old NES-era games, with careful platforming and level memorization. Anyway, cool idea and fun game, thanks NB264 :)

Well afaik most people who do it regularly usually turn the game volume almost all the way down anyways. If you don't want to record again, feel free to post that existing video. Don't worry, any commentary is counted as commentary, you don't have to be crazy talkative :)

Thanks for the encouragement. It really was a fun game; good work making it!
Here is the video I made, although I still think it's fairly boring to watch :P

I think it would be fun to try a classic mode runthrough sometime. I can imagine how difficult it would be to not die.
By the way, are there 10 coins per stage? I didn't notice when I was playing, but it kind of seemed like that when I watched some of the footage later. I suppose it would be a good way to both tell what level you were on and see if you had missed coins.

Adding you to the invite list now. Really liked how fast you adapted to certain challenges.
No, number of coins changes depending on the size and layout of the level. Some have 10, some 12, some even 15. Only constant is that each world (7 levels + boss) has 100 coins, which makes 500 total.
There are some user created guides in the steam hub with more or less useful descriptions of all the coins whereabouts, if you don't mind that kind of help.

Summer Goblin and Coins marathon
Hello! It's me again with another GnC marathon. Let's hope more people gets involved this time, as I think we all had fun watching people play the last time and I hope they found their awards/gifts fair and to their liking.
In short,
This time the system is going to be a bit different, to allow for more flexibility. I'm going to create a one-way train, and boarding will start from the back, so people who are invited in the last car will have access only to that wagon (giveaway), but someone who's invited into the first class will have access to the entire train that comes after that car. I hope it's clear, but just in case, here's a table:
and there's also a graphical representation attached to this post!
I will also create bunch of daily freebies, so stick around and check the first reply often. If there are any questions, feel free to ask... or you can check the previous event and read some tips and hints on recording, playing the game and so on.
How to record your gameplay?
Entries closing on July 20th. Invites will be sent before July 30th.
If you want your videos to appear in the game hub too (http://steamcommunity.com/app/551580/videos/) you have to go to your steam profile/videos and add them from there. It's easy enough, just connect to your youtube account (log in), select the video and select the game it's associated to, then click "add". That's it. Connection is not permanent, you can log out afterwards, add videos from other accounts later and so on.
