For anyone who plays the game and hasn't heard Daybreak has announced that the Just Survive servers will be shutting down in a month. I copied and pasted the letter as well as the FAQ for those that don't want to go to the site. Or if you want to read it from the official site I've linked it - Just Survive Website

Dear Survivors,

After careful consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision to sunset Just Survive on Wednesday, October 24 at 11 a.m. PT. The excitement of the game’s promise was palpable and its loyal community is still full of ideas for its future. Unfortunately, we are no longer in a position to fulfill its greatness and the current population of the game makes it untenable to maintain.

Just Survive was part of our first Early Access project, and we learned a great deal during its development. As with any open world game, the greatest stories came from our passionate players. From the incredibly skilled base builders to the free-ranging gangs, and all of the players named variations of “ImFriendly” and “PleaseDontShootMe”, we hope everyone had amazing adventures across Pleasant Valley and Badwater Canyon.

Thank you for taking the time to play the game, to help test it when we opened the Test servers to the public, and for all of the suggestions and feedback throughout Early Access. We truly appreciate everyone’s commitment and your contributions throughout the development process. Our promise is to do better and learn from every experience along the way.

Just Survive servers will remain available for play until Wednesday, October 24 at 11 a.m. PT, and starting immediately all Steam purchases and in-game transactions have been disabled. To find out if you are eligible for a refund via Steam, please visit this link.

Thank you again for your support and dedication to Just Survive.

Best,

The Just Survive Team at Daybreak Games

As someone said it on reddit, this is a game that cost $20, had microtransactions and sold millions of copies. Yet it never made it out from early access and now it's shutting down. Pretty hilarious

The whole thing was pretty much a mess from start to finish. Originally it was H1Z1 which you got for $20 and then they eventually broke it into two different games for different prices, H1Z1: Just Survive and H1Z1: King Of The Kill and split the H1Z1 team into two. H1Z1: Just survive eventually became Just Survive and H1Z1 King of the Kill dropped King of the Kill and was just H1Z1. Daybreak moved a good portion of the Just Survive team to work on H1Z1. H1Z1 is now H1Z1: Battle Royale now although the name change is only in the pic on the Steam store page. And obviously the devs that were on the Just Survive team will most likely head over to the H1Z1 team. So pretty much they got rid of exactly what H1Z1 was suppose to be about.. the Zombie Apocalypse and survival.

Oh my, what are we gonna play now without this unique survival crafting early access game?

Some unique Battle Royale early access game, obviously.
I mean, the devs jumped from one fad to the next and they probably count on their playerbase to do the same.

Can't tell if I've never seen this game or just forgot it. What's with all these zombie survival games and being half-assed as heck?

Isn't H1Z1 one of the earlier ones? They just kept renaming it so it seems like a new game every time.

Ehh, that's why I'm so confused. Charging another 20 bucks for what's just a split of another game that used to cost seems like a shameless cashgrab to me...

I'm confused about people paying those $20s every time they rename the game too. I think it's called Fortnite now and they can grab some more cash because they added building stuff.
