(i couldn't think of a better title, sorry)
Anyway since Fable The Lost Chapters was recently released on Steam and it's a pretty old game, maybe there's a chance for some other classics to come out as well. What would you like to see eventually? Here are my picks:

XIII
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver
Postal 2: Share the Pain
Hitman: Contracts
Soldier of Fortune
and if i could pick just one from the whole series it would definitely be Silent Hill 2 (there is a director's cut edition for PC and it has bonus scenario where you can play as Maria after you complete the main game. So yeah, there's probably 0,00001% chance that any of that will happen but what the hell.

I'd like to see the original Blood Omen. Though it's pretty dated. I'd love to see it get a remake. Has the best story in the series.

More realistically given Fable and AOE3, I'd like to see the previous AOEs and Age of Mythology show up.

I know Steam won't take old games to their Library so easily, so this is indeed a Fantasy thread. Only thing to hope for is gog.com.

A game I wish I could purchase anywhere actually is Silver. I played it like 13 years ago, but never got around to see it again. Pretty amazing RPG.

there are so many great old games that should be on Steam, but those might not be compatible with new systems (Win 7 etc.) or Steam simply doesnt want to bother with it :) anyway I'm a huge fan of Hitman series and Contracts would be really nice to have :)

There are too many legacy games for me to list that I would like on steam. BUT, possibly the best aspect of Steam is that you don't need to play the game through Steam in order to use the overlay and chat feature. It may not work with all games but even having that feature for the 90% of games it does work with is a blessing. Aside from the overlay what reason would you need a game to be steam compatible?

No longer needing physical media is a nice bonus, as is the ease of access regarding uninstalling/reinstalling Steam provides.

Hitman Contracts is not on Steam because of some music rights issue. License for one of the songs ran out and whoever owns the rights to Contracts doesn't feel like paying the band to renew it or changing it (reason why some TV shows take so long to hit DVD is generally the same).

Yeah, that issue with Hitman: Contracts is really fucked up and from my pick that would be a game that is most likely to be on Steam someday, all they have to do is edit or replace one soundfile

Separate from Dungeon Siege 3 (as it's better on the PS3) I would like to see
Dungeon Siege 1 and
Dungeon Siege 2
Both with working LAN and direct IP connection co-op

I'd say Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 1, a Bioware Classics pack (planescape Torment, Icewind Dale 1 and 2, and more), Soul Reaver, Silver (old RPG with a very interesting fighting system, got the chance to play and finish when i was alot younger), Maybe a Larry collection (from the first to the 6th or 7th, or a full collection why not?), Laura Bow (1 and 2, amazing graphical adventures)..

I'm getting nostalgic

If you consider Fable a "pretty old game", you should search Steam for things like Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, Indiana Jones.. Calling Fable old just made me feel old..sigh

I'm realizing that it is ME who is pretty old ^^

System Shock 1+2. That would be awesome. I'm also missing Wizardry 7+8. There are so many old Bullfrog games that I'd like to see (Magic Carpet, Dungeon Keeper, Black & White, Syndicate Wars...) and of course Master of Magic and Master of Orion 2.
...oh my... there are a lot of games coming to mind now (Realms of Arcania: Shadows over Riva, Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries, Crusader: No Remorse/No Regret, Toonstruck).

Luckily many of those are on GOG, which I personally prefer over Steam.

Magic Carpet, Dungeon Keeper, Master of Magic, Master of Orion 1&2, Realms of Arkania 1&2, Crusader: No Remorse, Crusader: No Regret

If only the System Shock games were there as well...

Homeworld and Homeworld 2
Freelancer
All of the Legacy of Kain games.
Knights of the Old Republic 2. Sure it's buggy and unfinished, but with the fan patch/restoration it's even better than the original.
Sacred 2: Ice And Blood, since it's stupid that they sell the base game but not the expansion. This will never happen though because the publishers are complete retards.
Dungeon Siege and Dungeon Siege 2 - AS SEPARATE GAMES! Steam has them, but you can only get them if you buy the Dungeon Siege 3 Deluxe edition, and DS3 sucks badly.
Mass Effect 3, since it seems it will be Origin only and I refuse to use Origin.
Same with Kingdoms of Amalur. The game looks awesome, but it's another Origin exclusive.

Fable coming to steam seams like an obvious move from Microsoft. See Age of Empires 3 as well.
I doubt that Valve would refuse any game regardless of age, as long as the one that holds the rights wants to.

I would like to see Legacy of Kain (all of them) as well. Besides that:
Grim Fandango
Ground Control
Metal Gear Series
Myth series
Thief series

While they're at it, most of everything on GoG would do.

I've wanted an accessible copy of Grim Fandango since I loaned it to a friend saying "The game will boot with either CD, take these and install it and give me back one of the discs..." (You can probably guess the rest of the story.)
